Don't come to Tibet in August! I'm telling the truth!!!
Tibet, this mysterious and magnificent land, boasts enchanting scenery. Careful planning before embarking on the journey is crucial to avoid wasting precious time.
Budget and Preparation
It is recommended to reasonably arrange your budget according to your situation. Do not be too frugal, as traveling in Tibet can be relatively expensive. If you choose to fly, immediately go to a clinic or hospital for oxygen and medication if you experience altitude sickness. Do not hope to recover by just sleeping; early treatment ensures a pleasant subsequent journey.
Ways to Enter Tibet
If you have ample time, a train sleeper is a good choice. Avoid hard seats to ensure good rest and reduce the risk of altitude sickness. After arriving in Lhasa, rest at the hotel first. Avoid excessive exercise, walking, washing your hair, bathing, and drinking alcohol to prevent altitude sickness.
Food Experience
Tibet's sweet tea is sweet and delicious, while butter tea has a salty flavor. Some friends may not be accustomed to the taste of butter tea, so try it cautiously.

Food Recommendations
Tibetan noodles, tsampa, barley wine, and yak meat are must-try delicacies. Tibetan noodles are chewy, tsampa is nutritious, barley wine is rich and mellow, and yak meat is tender and fresh.
Precautions
When taking photos with Tibetan mastiffs, lambs, and yaks by Yamdrok Lake, remember to negotiate the price with the herders in advance. Be sure to take sun protection measures when traveling, as the ultraviolet rays in Tibet are very strong.
May you have an unforgettable and wonderful journey in Tibet!

Those planning to come to Tibet in June must see this
6⃣ June in Tibet, I would call it the best time to travel🎈! Not to mention the fewer people and beautiful scenery, it coincides with Tibet's rainy season, the air is more humid, and the oxygen content is at its highest throughout the year🫁, making it less likely to suffer from altitude sickness. During the day, temperatures usually range between 20 - 25 degrees Celsius, and at night, they are around 10 - 15 degrees, neither cold nor hot, making it an especially good season for visiting👏.
First, you need to choose a mode of transportation that suits you, based on your financial situation and time availability. Taking a plane✈ takes less time, while a train🚞 allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, but it requires more time.
June in Tibet is also during the traditional festival 'Saga Dawa Festival', which is one of the grander ethnic traditional festivals in Tibet. Various ceremonies and traditional dance performances are held during this period, and the festival usually lasts for a month🔥
🌟Attraction Recommendations
📍Potala Palace: Standing on the Red Hill, it is the highest palace in the world👍.
📍Jokhang Temple: The first Buddhist temple in Tibet, built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. Every day, a large number of devout followers come to Jokhang Temple to prostrate and worship🙏.
📍Everest Base Camp: Located at an altitude of 5200 meters, it is one of the best places to view the world's 1⃣ highest peak - Mount Everest🏔.
📍Namtso: Known as 'Heavenly Lake', it is surrounded by beautiful scenery, with the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains stretching in the distance🌄.
📍Yamdrok Lake: Considered by locals to be 'turquoise earrings scattered by a goddess'. The lake water changes into a myriad of blue hues with the sunlight, which is breathtaking💙.
📍Sacred Mountain and Holy Lake Scenic Area: Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in western Tibet's Ngari are the most popular tourist attractions, and June is also the best time to visit. Lake Manasarovar, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in Tibet, is located at an altitude of 4718 meters within the Gangdise mountain range and is known as one of the 'three great holy lakes' of Tibet; while Mount Kailash is one of the most sacred Buddhist mountains in Tibet and a famous pilgrimage site🙏.
‼Precautions
⚠Ensure you get plenty of sleep the day before departure, do not catch a cold, and if you have a cold, it is not recommended to come to Tibet😷
⚠Do not bathe or wash your hair for the first two days after arrival, as the climate in Tibet has a large temperature difference between morning and evening, and bathing can cause rapid evaporation of water, which can lead to a cold due to the quick loss of body heat❄
⚠The distances between various scenic spots in Tibet are long, so it's a good idea to carry some small snacks like chocolate, cola, beef jerky, etc., to replenish your energy🍫
⚠The outdoor UV rays are strong, and the sunlight is dazzling during the day, so it's best to bring sunscreen, a sun hat, and sunglasses🕶 to protect your skin and eyes.
⚠It is advisable to find a local tour group or leader in advance for a more worry-free experience🤗
⚠People with severe hypertension, heart disease, respiratory diseases, and other conditions not recommended by doctors should not travel to Tibet💊
Are you ready for a trip to Tibet😃

Epic view - Lookout to Mount Everest, Tibet
The title really says it all but just wow! The view was incredible, the excitement was overwhelming. We stopped at Gyawu La Pass on our drive to Mount Everest Base Camp and we’re in awe of the beautiful sight. This was a quick stop we took before transferring to an eco friendly bus that took us the rest of the way to the base of Mount Everest. It really was a bucket list and life changing trip. I can’t recommend it enough…if you are able to travel to Tibet, go! 🥰
If you live in China, you can travel to Tibet with a tour group. We went with JoyTravel and they were wonderful. :)

Amazing trip to Tibet and Everest Base Camp
To get there, one must enlist the service of a tour company. They will take care first and foremost your permit to travel. One is recommended to acclimatize days before doing the actual trip around Tibet and heading to see the highest mountain in the world. We stayed at various 4-Star hotels in prior to heading to the base camp where we stayed at local tents with good heating system. The tent owner will take care of you including bedding and food. What an amazing experience!

Mount Qomolangma, 8848.86
The biggest challenge of traveling to Tibet is altitude sickness. Today I came to the highest altitude place of this trip, MT.Qomolangma Base Camp, which is 5200 meters above sea level. I really felt the thinness of oxygen and I wanted to sleep all the time. The weather today is really good, you can see the panoramic view of MT.Qomolangma, and there is also a sign of 318 Dingri Station, which is a must-drive route in life, to take pictures. I have heard that many people challenge themselves to climb Mount Everest, but starting from January 2019, Chinese government has banned any unit or individual from climbing Mount Qomolangma. The view from a distance is already very shocking!

Everest Base Camp has a temperature of -10° at 1 am and a car ride from Shigatse for 8 hours. After three hundred twists and turns in three border checkpoints, it finally reaches Everest Base Camp. At first, the fog of the mountains and the peaks of Mount Everest cannot be reached. I noticed that until 22 o'clock, the fog dissipated, and I heard someone shouting that the sky was so beautiful. Then I wore a down jacket and a jacket with a tripod and a SLR to go out to shoot the stars. The starry sky of Everest is definitely one of the most beautiful stars I have ever seen. Shooting near zero, the dark night was illuminated by a flash of lightning, Everest was completely illuminated, and the majestic Mount Everest appeared in front of me for the first time. Thanks to the more frequent lightning, I was able to record differently. Everest.

💙Tibet, a dreamland in the hearts of countless people, seems to come from outside the world, with the purest natural scenery and the richest cultural atmosphere.
🏔️Here are the most spectacular mountains in the world, with continuous snow-capped mountains like the backbone of the earth, straight into the sky. Mount Everest, the top of the earth, stands majestically between heaven and earth, with its white snow-capped peak shining with sacred light in the sun, like a treasure scattered by the gods on earth. Mount Kailash, with its unique pyramid-like shape, attracts countless believers to make a pilgrimage, bowing their heads step by step, a picture of faith and perseverance intertwined.
🌄The vast alpine meadows are like green velvet carpets, gently swaying in the breeze. Herds of yaks, like black pearls, dot the landscape, grazing leisurely, creating a peaceful and harmonious picture. Under the blue sky, the crystal-clear lakes are like mirrors, with the deep blue waters of Namtso Lake and the winding surface of Yamdrok Lake, like ribbons of fairies, reflecting the sky and snow-capped mountains, breathtakingly beautiful.
🛕Ancient temples are scattered throughout Tibet, and the Potala Palace is world-famous. The red and white buildings are built on the mountain, majestic, and every brick and stone carries the memory of history. Entering the temple, the rich aroma of butter tea fills the air, and the exquisite murals and solemn Buddha statues all show the profoundness of Tibetan Buddhism. The chanting of the monks seems to travel through time and space, telling ancient stories.
👨👩👧👦The people here have the purest smiles and the most steadfast faith. Their lives are simple and happy, full of love for life, whether it is a grand festival celebration or daily work. The colorful prayer flags flutter in the wind, a wish for a better life.
💕Tibet is a visual feast, a spiritual baptism, a place where the soul is comforted.

The stunning Gyawu La Pass.
Gyawu La Pass is an important pass on the way to Everest Base Camp, located in Dingri County, Shigatse, Tibet. From this pass, visitors can see the world's only five 8,000-meter snow peaks, from left to right: Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, Cho Oyu, and Shishapangma. Gyawu La Pass is not only a great place to see snow peaks, but also offers great opportunities for hiking and photography. Visitors can follow the wheel tracks up the slope to the top of Gyawu La Mountain, where they can overlook the rolling mountains and distant snow peaks and experience the magnificent scenery of nature!

Gawula Pass, Tibet | The winding road of life, 108 turns to Mount Everest.
Gawula Pass: The most spectacular viewing platform in the world. Located in Dingri County, Shigatse, Tibet, China, the pass is 5,210 meters above sea level. It is under the jurisdiction of the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve. To enter the Everest Base Camp from the traditional route, you need to enter the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve and cross the Gawula Pass.
Gawula Pass is located to the north of the Himalayas. Standing at the pass and looking south at the great Himalayas, you can see 5 peaks over 8,000 meters and more than 40 peaks over 7,000 meters on a clear day. This is the only place in the world where you can see 5 peaks over 8,000 meters at the same time.
The pass is 5,200 meters above sea level, and you can see 5 peaks over 8,000 meters in the distance. There are only 14 peaks over 8,000 meters in the world, and 5 of them are here‼
▶ Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, 8,844.8m
▶ Lhotse, the fourth highest peak in the world, 8,516m
▶ Makalu, the fifth highest peak in the world, 8,485m
▶ Cho Oyu, the sixth highest peak in the world, 8,201m
▶ Shishapangma, the fourteenth highest peak in the world, 8,027m
In addition, there are countless peaks over 7,000 meters, so it is not an exaggeration to call it the third pole of the world.
P.S. This is also a more suitable place to take sunrise photos of the golden mountain. Early birds, go take more spectacular photos!
Time: The golden mountain usually appears about 10 minutes before sunrise. You can check the sunrise time of the day on the weather app, and then arrive and prepare the camera position in advance. You can go to Dingri first, and then get up early in the morning and leave Dingri to arrive.
Shooting: The pass is 5,200 meters above sea level, and the weather is cold in the morning. If you stay for a long time, you need to prepare thick clothes. If the weather is good, you can see a row of snow-capped mountains. You can take a photo with Mount Everest with a telephoto lens, which is very photogenic.
Temperature: Before sunrise, the Gawula Pass at an altitude of 5,240 meters is very cold, and the wind is blowing. The temperature in the summer morning is also around zero, and the cold in winter is close to minus twenty degrees.

Drive straight to the closest place to the 8,000-meter snow mountain in Tibet.
There are too many snow mountains in Tibet, but most of them are far away from the viewing platform, and photos 📷 also need to be taken with a telephoto lens. But I found a place very, very close to the 8,000-meter snow mountain. It should be the closest place for ordinary tourists to see the 8,000-meter snow mountain.
📍Dingri County Pushila Mountain Pass
This is the only way to Rongxia Township, and it is also the best viewing platform to admire Cho Oyu. It takes about 2 hours to drive from Gangga Town, and the road conditions are very good throughout the journey.
【What snow mountains can you see here🏔️】
🛻8201 meters, the world's sixth peak, Cho Oyu
🛻7952 meters, Gezhongkang Peak
🛻6666 meters, Qiaolazang Peak
✅On the way to Pushila Mountain Pass, you can admire an 8,000-meter snow mountain, Cho Oyu, and several 6,000-meter and 7,000-meter snow mountains
✅In addition to Cho Oyu, the most eye-catching is the 6666-meter Qiaolazang Snow Mountain (Figure 5). This number is too lucky for Chinese people.
✅The only way from Gangga Town to Rongxia Gully, about 20km out of Gangga Town, you can see the perspective of P2-P3, which is very suitable for taking road photos. It is recommended to use telephoto shooting
✅The accommodation conditions in Rongxia Township and Gangga Town are not good, please consider whether to stay
Travel tips ‼️
⚠️
Be sure to bring your ID card and border pass
⚠️
It's very cold under the snow mountain, you must bring a down jacket
⚠️
When you see a place close to the snow mountain, stop the car, then climb a small hill, basically it is the best position
Note❗️
Sisters, if you want to take more pictures, you can continue to walk towards the snow mountain for a while, about 1 hour is enough.

You have entered the Mount Everest National Nature Reserve
With anticipation, you head to the world's highest peak.
The weather that day was cloudy. When we reached the 108 turns, we saw clouds surrounding Everest, and we knew there was a high probability that we wouldn't see the complete Everest. But we still pressed on towards the foot of Everest. The moment we arrived was still very worthwhile. There were many people, all heading in the same direction. Some were building Mani heaps, some were taking photos. At an altitude of 5200 meters, at this moment, I am above everything but below you. This describes both love and the wonders of nature. Although this trip was regrettable, it was worth it. I will come again next time, hoping to see a perfect Everest.

99% of people miss the stunning starry sky and Milky Way at Yamdrok Lake
Life advice: You must come to Yamdrok Lake to see the starry sky and Milky Way at least once. It's so beautiful it will bring you to tears‼️
.
When night falls, the lake is no longer the azure mirror of the day but transforms into a reflection of the vast universe. Countless stars✨ lightly dance on the water's surface, making you feel as if you are in the Milky Way. This is the ultimate romance the universe gifts us~
.
🌌【Why recommend stargazing at Yamdrok Lake?】
✔️Yamdrok Lake has a pure environment with little light pollution and high atmospheric transparency, making it an excellent stargazing spot.
✔️Yamdrok Lake's altitude is 4441m, much lower than the 5200m of Everest Base Camp, making it less likely to cause altitude sickness, and the accommodation conditions are better, so your body won't suffer as much.
✔️Without the daytime crowds, you can enjoy the lake and the Milky Way in peace. If you stay at the Yamdrok Lake campsite, you can also experience both sunrise and sunset.
.
📸【Starry Sky Photography Tips】
1⃣️Time: The best months for shooting in the Northern Hemisphere are generally from April to September. Avoid shooting around the 15th of the lunar month.
2⃣️Composition: Remember to include some foreground to avoid monotony. The foreground can be a characteristic tent, mountain peak, vehicle, person, etc.
3⃣️Photography Equipment: It's best to use a full-frame camera, but APS-C cameras and smartphones can also work. The larger the aperture, the better. Set ISO between 1600-3200 and shutter speed around 15-25 seconds.
.
🌟【Yamdrok Lake Stargazing Tips】
1) The temperature drops at night, so be sure to keep warm and bring a thick coat.
2) You can bring some props to make shooting easier: flashlight, lantern, fairy lights, etc.
3) It is recommended to stay at the starry sky campsite in Yamdrok Lake⛺️, which is more convenient and comfortable, allowing you to "sleep with the stars and mountains as your companions."

The ultimate guide to Everest Base Camp is here
🎫Tickets: 160 per person,
🚍Sightseeing bus 120 per person (round trip)
⛰️Altitude 5200
🧳What to prepare before going to Everest
📌It's windy and cold, be sure to wear a hat, a three-in-one jacket or a down jacket. Military coats can be rented at Everest Base Camp for 80 yuan each. The advantage is you don't have to bring clothes, the disadvantage is hygiene issues.
📌Motion sickness pills or patches: The 108 turns can really cause motion sickness😵💫
📌Border pass
Can be processed at the place of residence
Lhasa Border Defense Building (requires ID card and no criminal record certificate)
Shigatse Government Service Center (only requires ID card)
🗺️Route
First go to the Everest Base Camp ticket office (only sells tickets) → After passing the ticket office, you will reach the 108 turns of Everest → Then buy a ticket and take the sightseeing bus to Everest Base Camp at the transfer point.
📸Must-see attractions
📌Sunrise on the Golden Mountain
Sunrise is around 7:30 AM, sunset is around 8:30-9:30 PM (time is not fixed, changes with the seasons). Check the weather forecast in advance.
📌108 turns
Starting from Shigatse, shortly after entering the gate, you will reach the 108 turns, where you can see five 8000-meter snow-capped mountains at the same time.
📌Everest Monument
There are four monuments to check in at. Go when there are fewer people to take photos.
📌Letter from Everest
The highest post office in the world is at Everest Base Camp. Large postcards are 5 yuan, small postcards are 3 yuan; sending a letter from the roof of the world is very memorable.
🏨Accommodation
📌Accommodation at Everest Base Camp is not very good, some people may not be able to accept it. There are large shared rooms, small single rooms, and small standard rooms, all separated by wooden boards. Water use is not very convenient, and the toilet is a public restroom outside.
📌For those who don't want to stay in a tent, you can take the last bus at 9:30 PM back to Basong Village to stay in a homestay after watching the sunset. The possibility of altitude sickness is lower. It is recommended to book in advance, as it is easy to find no rooms if you go late.
💃🏻Activities
📌At 11 PM, there will be a disco on the mountain top, where everyone sings and dances together, but be careful not to overdo it, as it can easily cause altitude sickness🤣
📌At around 2 AM, everyone will come out to watch the stars, but it requires luck. If the weather is not good that night, you won't see anything. Usually, people in the same tent will drink, eat snacks, and chat happily.

Three-day tour to Everest Base Camp
📌 The ticket office is very! very! very far from the scenic area! The shuttle bus takes an hour . It seems that private cars can drive into the first part of the journey because there are many villages, small shops, and accommodations there. However, private cars seem to be prohibited further in, and only scenic area vehicles are allowed?
📌 The imagined climb of Everest: snow-capped mountains🏔️, cold wind, down jackets, extreme challenges, life-and-death struggle with nature❌
The reality of climbing Everest: Everest Base Camp, flat ground, almost no climbing, not very cold but very windy, mountains with snow caps⛰️ are very far away⭕ (Climbing Everest is a project for the wealthy, Everest Base Camp is prepared for ordinary people, it's actually just to feel the atmosphere from afar)
📌 Altitude sickness issue: If you have already stayed in Tibet or the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for a few days and have adapted, then coming to Everest should be no problem. Just bring a small oxygen bottle from the city, priced at 💰10-15, there's no need to buy those specialized oxygen bottles costing hundreds (no refunds whether they work or not, and you have to return them). As for military coats, if you go during the day, it's not that cold and you don't really need to rent one, you can save a lot of money. However, if your body is relatively weak, you can prepare one just in case.
📌 There are tents⛺ at Everest Base Camp where you can stay overnight, but you need to book in advance. They are large tents divided into shared and standard rooms, but it seems like they are just separated by curtains, with shared bathrooms.
📌 Shuttle buses run from 6:30 to 21:30.
📌 If you don't stay at Everest Base Camp, you can stay at the foot of the mountain (whether on the mountain or at the foot, it's still within the scenic area, and you can take the shuttle bus directly). There are homestays run by Tibetans with Tibetan characteristics, but the conditions are generally not very good. If you have high accommodation requirements, it might not be suitable (it's recommended to stay in newly built and newly opened hotels). When we went in, there were girls👧🏻 from other groups who couldn't get used to it and left directly. There is basically no decoration inside, very primitive, some rooms are separated by cardboard without bathrooms. The advantage is that you live with Tibetans and can see authentic Tibetan-style decorations (the conditions are really not good, but don't shout about it directly, because this is the living condition of many local Tibetans. Water resources are scarce, and the economic conditions are not developed. Even if you are not used to it, please don't say it directly in front of them, it will hurt them).
