Socha Canyon
Due to geological factors, the Soča River is pink-green (some say it is turquoise), which is very beautiful. The Big and Small Socha Canyons are not spectacular, but they are beautiful places with many excellent trails and waterfalls nearby, and many people come here for boating and fishing. There are bridges built at both ends of the canyon, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the canyon. The Great Soča Canyon is about 750 meters long. The river water is deep, dark blue or emerald green, and the rock walls on both sides are narrow and towering, with many small waterfalls. The Little Socha Canyon is wider and shallower, and the water is light blue or light green. It is easier to appreciate the beauty of the stones on both sides. It can be said that each has its own characteristics.
Walk from the Great Soča Gorge in Bovec to the Small Soča Gorge. Google estimates that the route is about 2.3 kilometers long, that is, the road, and the trail is about 5-6 kilometers long. It took us about 2.5 hours to go back and forth.
