Stretched out underground, there are extensive spaces and various moldings including stalactites and stalagmites. As Japan has an abundance of limestone, there are many limestone caves created by Mother Nature over an extended period of time. You can enjoy “exploring” sightseeing caves that stairways and lights are installed. Its not famous though, but during my visit, I felt overwhelmed by its beauty. The Toma Cave was discovered in 1957 and is designated as a Hokkaido Natural Monument. It is a limestone cave formed by the dissolution of groundwater from the Jurassic period 150 million years ago, where you can see the extremely rare "macaroni stalactites." It's a masterpiece!! Tohma Town is a town in Kamikawa District, central Hokkaido. The Banryu Festival is held every August. It is a powerful festival with dancing dragons, and attracts many locals and people from outside the town. There are many food stalls so you can eat and drink, and there are fireworks at the end, so it is a festival that the whole family can enjoy!!
