I used to think Tromsø was the pinnacle of Nordic winter scenery, but after visiting the Lofoten Islands, I realized it can be even more stunning. Here, the route is filled with snowy mountains, fjords, fishing villages, colorful houses, and the sea. It's a complete paradise for scenery lovers. About traveling in the Lofoten Islands: Public transportation here is inconvenient, so the best way to explore is by self-driving, as the entire route is scenic and being able to stop whenever you want is the best. However, if you have little experience driving on ice and snow in winter, be cautious about self-driving, as the roads can be very slippery and dangerous. If you don't drive, the best option is to join a tour from Svolvær. Usually, a one-day tour of the southern Lofoten will take you to classic spots around Reine / Hamnøy / Sakrisøy. The interior environment is newer than Hurtigruten. You can order meals together with the room booking. Later, when I wanted to order another one at around 5 o'clock, it was closed. So I bought a pancake from the cafe on the sixth floor, but it was not freshly made. It was cold and there was no brown cheese, but it was sold at the same price. 💞The view from the 9th floor deck is superb and spectacular.
