#2024wish I had visited Perak Musuem on the weekend, it was truly an amazing experience. This musuem is the oldest musuem in Malaysia, situated in Jalan Taming Sari, 34000 Taiping, Perak. Perak Musuem is a treasure trove of the history, its highlights the history of the state, featuring historical and archaeological gems with even remains of animals and artefacts. Perak Museum has 4 galleries and outdoor exhibitions: 1. Gallery A - Taxidermy and Archaeological Exhibition Gallery 2. Gallery B - Nature Gallery 3. Gallery C - Cultural Exhibition Gallery 4. Taiping Zoo and Night Safari ✨

We started off on a train ride to get a sense of the layout and subsequently walked to see some animals up close. We went during the day where most animals would be sleeping. Would not mind going back again for the Night Safari option. The Zoo keeper that drive the train was friendly and explaining the animals and their background story through out the 30 minutes round trip in the zoo.The animals had a lot of space and were in their natural environment. Overall, I highly recommend Taiping Zoo to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with their family. For the price paid, I think its a very good time to spend with family here. Only downside were some areas were closed. Also suggestion to have events throughout the day such as feeding spectacle or something more engaging with visitors. Animals looked like were taken good care of. Location - Jalan Taiping-Kuala Sepetang, Kuala Sepetang, Perak, Malaysia PC: 34650 Getting There - About 30minutes drive from Taiping Lake Garden. Attractions - Get a chance to observe and be amazed at the charcoal manufacturing industry in Kuala Sepetang. The whole process involving the mangrove’s wood selection to remove the water from the woods placed inside igloo-shaped kilns(made from clay) using high heat fire burning, next to cooling off stage and finally producing the end product-the charcoals. A serene and quiet place

If you are in Taiping this is the place you would want to visit, located at Maxwell hill surely this is the wettest place in Malaysia. Although rated as 3 star hotel the feature of this hotel is outstanding. Rating as per below : (this is my personal preference only others may not) Room rating (3/5) The room comes with bath tub (standard size) the cleanliness of the bath tub is quite so-so, so dont expect much. Bed is nice and comfortable with extra pillow also you can hangout at the outside where there is a balcony Public Pool rating (4/5) Pool was big and the water is clean, there is a section for children and toddler area. The deep of the pool is just nice for grown ups Food rating (2/5) Hotel restaurant could adds in much more variety to the breakfast menu, but the price buffet for breakfast is cheap so you get what you paid off Facilities (4/5) Other than walking distance to the maxwell hill there is also an adventure park right next to the hotel

Affordable hotel for family vacation

Within walking distance to Maxwell Hill and MRSM Taiping, highly recommended for parents with small children. However, the renovation works at 4th floor is noisy from 9.00 a.m. onwards, it is loud. Even of Deepavali public holiday. You have to get out the room. They stop work around 5pm kot. Just stay there to sleep and swim.

Taiping Zoo & Night Safari

#malaysiatrip This zoo is well maintained enough to put the KL's Zoo Negara to complete shame. Initially went for the Night Safari, which was alright, although I could hardly see much of anything. The zoo guide would shine their high powered beam torches at the animals to point them out to visitors, not something I agree with, but then again, you won't spot them otherwise. But the Night Safari wasn't enough, so I went again the next day early in the morning. Much better in the morning as it is quieter (not so hot too) and one can really appreciate the entire landscape of the zoo and animals. If you have the patience for it, there's an EV bus that does its rounds every 2 hours (or so I'm told) that starts from the Taiping Zoo and then round all the Heritage Trail areas around Taiping town. Grab Car to most places costs about RM 5 per way (more or less).
