The south of France in the off-season is the perfect place for introverts who love long walks, which is exactly what I am. I love savoring beautiful views in complete solitude, imagining that I have it all to myself. 😁 And this time I took the train to Le Dramont. First, I got off at the deserted sandy beach of Du Debarquement, which offers a view of the so-called Saracen (cylindrical) tower on Ile d'Or (a private island). The islet, like the rest of the Esterel Massif, is made of red volcanic rock. The tower that rises on it is built from this very rock. Then I went to a small beach nook – a tiny cove where you can see an incredible combination of colors. The pebbles and walls of this beach are made of porphyry rock, which was also mined in a nearby quarry. The stones are purple and cyan. These colors make this place so charming and magical. Then I reached the road and walked through Le Dramont to the Bay of Pourrousset. A strong wind had picked up, making the walk difficult; it was literally knocking me off my feet. But the sea was so beautiful, a rich blue against the purple-red backdrop of the porphyry massifs. The bay gradually transitioned into Agay, a harbor located between the capes of Dramont and Baumette. A beach of golden sand, a view of the Esterel massif and the sea. Small cozy houses and hotels, restaurants, which are undoubtedly open in season. I didn't see anyone except a Christmas tree. And finally, I reached the place I had originally intended. After rounding Cap Baumette and walking a fair distance, I finally reached the bridge over the Calanque d'Anthéor. This picturesque red arched structure blends perfectly with the surrounding landscape, making the place even more cozy and inviting. #France #France

Toulon, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the sunshine
It seems rare to find a city in the south of France where you can feel the sea so closely.
Just taking a leisurely walk along the coastal path gives you a true sense of being on vacation, and simply spending time gazing at the sea near La Tour Royale was more than satisfying.
Rather than the bustling vibe typical of tourist spots, the city felt more like a place where locals enjoy the sea as part of their daily lives.
Compared to Nice or Marseille, it was much quieter (hardly any East Asians), making it an ideal spot for those who want to enjoy the seaside scenery in a calm atmosphere.
It was easy to visit Toulon from Marseille even on a short trip, and there were plenty of great spots for photography.
If you want to focus on the sea itself rather than the glitz and glamour in the south of France, Toulon is an excellent choice.
It's a city I'd love to visit again on my next trip to the south.

Bargemon rests like a quiet sigh in the hills of Provence, its sun-warmed stones and winding alleys steeped in centuries of rhythm and resilience. Encircled by olive groves and cypress silhouettes, the village hums with a gentle grace—where fountains murmur in shaded squares and time drifts like lavender on the breeze.
As you wander past shuttered windows and artisan ateliers, the pace of life softens to the sound of footsteps on cobblestone. Whether you're sipping pastis beneath a plane tree or watching the light shift across terracotta rooftops, Bargemon offers more than beauty—it offers stillness. It’s where the heart listens, one quiet moment at a time.

Hidden Shores at Plage des Darboussières 🏖️
#mytraveldiary
Plage des Darboussières, located on Île de Porquerolles in the Hyères islands, is a quiet beach surrounded by pine trees and rugged cliffs. Unlike the more crowded beaches on the island, this cove feels intimate and secluded, with its fine sand giving way to turquoise waters. The walk to reach it, through shady paths and wild vegetation, only adds to the sense of discovery.
It’s worth visiting because the beach offers both beauty and tranquility. The clear, shallow waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with rocky areas nearby where fish dart between the sea grass. Its natural setting makes it ideal for those who want to enjoy the island’s coastal charm away from the busier spots, especially in the warmer months.
What makes Plage des Darboussières unforgettable is its peaceful atmosphere. Sitting on the sand, with the sound of waves mingling with the rustle of pines, I felt completely immersed in the island’s natural rhythm. For me, it wasn’t just a beach but a little pocket of paradise—one that rewards those who take the time to wander off the beaten path.

Provence Views🏞️ - A Hidden Medieval Gem
#mytraveldiary
Perched in the quaint village of Nans-les-Pins, Castrum du Vieux Nans is a fascinating glimpse into Provence’s medieval past. The ruins, nestled on a hilltop, offer both historical intrigue and panoramic views over the surrounding forests and valleys.
The site immediately captures your imagination with its remnants of stone walls, watchtowers, and narrow pathways that once formed the heart of the fortified village. Walking among the ruins, it’s easy to picture the medieval life that unfolded here—defensive strategies, village gatherings, and daily routines framed by the rugged landscape.
The surrounding trails make the visit even more enjoyable. Short walks lead through pine forests, rocky outcrops, and flowering meadows, rewarding hikers with scenic overlooks of the Sainte-Baume range and the Provence countryside. Birds and local wildlife add life to the ruins, creating a peaceful atmosphere despite the site’s historic significance.
Castrum du Vieux Nans isn’t heavily commercialized, which makes the experience feel authentic. Informational panels provide context on the history and architecture, but the quiet charm of the location allows you to explore at your own pace. It’s ideal for history enthusiasts, photographers, or anyone who enjoys wandering through evocative landscapes.
Accessible by car or on foot from Nans-les-Pins village, the site is perfect for a half-day excursion combined with local hikes or a picnic. Morning visits are particularly beautiful, with sunlight casting dramatic shadows over the stone ruins.
Castrum du Vieux Nans offers a blend of history, nature, and tranquility. It’s a hidden gem in Provence, where you can step back in time while soaking in the serene beauty of the surrounding hills and valleys.

#traveldiaries La Casa di Gigi is a charming restaurant nestled in the port area of Saint-Tropez. When I first spotted it, I noticed the sign read “La Casa di Gi,” as the second “gi” had been damaged and wasn’t visible. Despite the missing letters, the place exuded warmth and character, with inviting outdoor seating and a cozy atmosphere. The aroma of delicious Italian cuisine wafted through the air, tempting me to step inside. The menu offered a delightful selection of traditional dishes, making it hard to choose. I loved the vibrant ambiance and the lively buzz of diners enjoying their meals, the menu too was very strategically designed to calm you down. La Casa di Gigi may have had a small sign issue, but it’s definitely a gem worth visiting in this picturesque coastal town! 📍Address: La Casa Di gigi, St tropez
