I went to Venice beach in Los Angeles in Summer 2024. Would recommend this beach for a chill hangout. You can walk around with a lot of food choices and see a lot of hot guys as they have a lot of recreation places like the famous beach front gym and skateboard pool. The only down side is the public toilet there are not decent so please find the toilet before your visit. ❤️

Among the places I visited in this beautiful area were the Venice Canals or Venice Canals. When I arrived at the Venice Canals, I felt like I had entered another world. Modeled after Venice, Italy, the area features a series of small canals surrounded by beautiful wooden houses and bridges. These channels have been renovated in recent decades to reflect the beauty and romance that Venice was originally famous for. I started my tour by walking on several wooden bridges connecting the canals. The bridges gave me a great view of the surrounding landscape with colorful flowers and green plants planted on both sides of the canals. She also noticed that there were small boats on both sides of the canals, and some locals were using them to move between their houses. This gave the place a magical and romantic atmosphere, and made me feel like I was in a romantic movie. I highly recommend visiting the Venice Canals Los Angeles for anyone who wants to enjoy a unique and romantic experience. Small canals, wooden bridges and stunning views will ensure peace and relaxation, offering an unforgettable experience in the heart of the metropolis.

Venice Canal Historic District in Los Angeles. The Venice Canal Historic District, built by developer Abbot Kinney in 1905, was part of his American Venice project, attempting to recreate the look and feel of Venice, Italy, along the coastal area of Los Angeles. Upon entering the district, one can't help but admire the picturesque scene: little bridges, flowing water, family homes, docks, boats, and flowers, all intimately scaled, serene and beautiful, a haven from the world, inviting one to linger and forget to return. The overall layout of the waterways and walkways is straightforward, but one can experience the charm of simplicity and tranquility. Here, far from the bustling city, every household is by the water, with their own docks and canoes. It is said that during certain festivals, people will take to their boats and rafts, gathering on the canals. Originally, the canals covered a larger area than what is seen today. However, with the popularity of automobiles in the area, many canals were filled in 1929 to make way for paved roads. In 1982, the remaining canals and the surrounding residential area were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States. In 1992, renovations were made; the canal water was drained, new sidewalks and walls were constructed, and water was allowed to enter the canals through the sea gates at the Marina Del Rey breakwater. The gates are opened at low tide to drain most of the water and closed at high tide, trapping the water for about three days before being refreshed again. In 1993, the district was reopened and became one of the city's most desirable and expensive residential areas. In recent years, there has been extensive renovation of old houses and construction of many large modern homes, When in Los Angeles, it is recommended to take a walk here. Thanks to its bridges, this place has a romantic feel, and walks are unique in all seasons and weather. The reflections of the houses in the canals make the photos from this place almost unbelievable. This is a living area. It's very quiet. Venice beach is public. It is a California’s Venice canals inspiration. It is near Santa Monica. Or 25 mins drive (20 miles) from Los Angeles center.

The beach was amazing with the tall palm trees, I spent a full day here and it was really relaxing. It was the last day in LA and my flight got cancelled (Yes, Lynx) so after paying another 5.5k HKD on a ticket to Toronto I had to let out my stress at Venice Beach and it was amazing! The beach was not the cleanest but not dirty either and it’s sort of “winter” here so it doesn’t matter that much I just took a stroll around. Ate some fish tacos at a resto and it was 10/10

Hidden gem of LA

#fallishere Absolutely beautiful, an architectural dream and best kept secret. This was by far the most interesting activity that I did in LA. The narrow pathways, beautiful homes and lovely feeling. Make this a must do on your visit to LA. Free parking in Meredith Avenue, with convenient access to the canals. Please be mindful that this really isn't a tourist trap. It's a residential neighborhood. So be respectful when wandering around people's homes.

Great Experience

The hotel is great and only 3 minutes from the train station where we took a picture on the bridge. I and my wife enjoyed staying the night here. Plus, the staff is friendly and helpful.

The Van Gogh Brothers: A Complex Relationship

I watched a documentary about Van Gogh starring Benedict Cumberbatch and was perplexed. Why does no one see this hypocrisy? Why does everyone think that there was great love between the brothers? I don’t know, it’s obvious to me that Theo didn’t sell Van Gogh paintings on purpose, being a successful (!) art dealer who got rich in this business, according to his friends, “he, like no one else, felt the trends of fashion and art, absolutely guessing which painting would become a piece of art." From Vincent, he received hundreds of paintings. And not one "managed" to sell, but kept everything. He did not visit his sick and lonely brother in a psychiatric clinic, and he also demanded a picture a week as payment for bills and art supplies. And when Vincent got worse and painted a picture a day, Theo took them too. Doesn't sound like a great benefactor. Even Vincent himself wrote to him in letters and asked why Theo did not even try to sell his paintings. All in all, Van Gogh was poor as a church mouse and trusted his brother all his artworks to sell. To no avail. All in all, I highly recommend this documentary. I would be interested in discussing it with you! Found this modern interpretation of Starry Night at Venice Beach.
