Back from Laos, honestly no hate please
Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordering China to the north and Cambodia to the south, embraced by Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar, giving it a peaceful and "world-unconcerned" vibe 🌄. The capital, Vientiane, is located on the banks of the Mekong River, facing Thailand’s Nong Khai Province across the river, making it one of the few capitals in the world situated near a national border!
February in Laos is the dry season, with an average temperature around 26°C, cool and pleasant—perfect for travel all year round. The locals live at a slow pace, with temples and a devout Buddhist atmosphere everywhere, ideal for relaxing your mind.
🚂 Transportation Tips
Long-distance: The most convenient way now is to take the China-Laos Railway directly! Starting from Kunming, high-speed trains can take you straight to cities like Vang Vieng and Vientiane in Laos, with scenery along the way as beautiful as a painting.
Local transport: Within cities, you can take tuk-tuks, but be sure to agree on the total price before getting on. For intercity travel, high-speed trains are also the easiest option, and you can book tickets in advance on Trip.com.
My experience: The best transport experience was renting a bike in Luang Prabang to weave through the alleys, feeling the breeze—super relaxing! The worst was taking a tuk-tuk in Vang Vieng without bargaining first, ended up overcharged a bit, so definitely haggle!
