Crosby beach is located in Merseyside, 30 minute drive from St. Helens train station. It’s worth a long walk along the beach, even in winter. Along the beach is the art installation by Sir Antony Gormley called Another Place. This sees the statues at various points of the beach, in different stages of rising from the sand. There are 100 cast iron statues, all looking out to the horizon. Following the beach along, you should be wary of quicksand and stay around the paths others are taking. The Lake House is both a hotel on the seafront and a lovely restaurant/cafe to visit. There are a large number of tables and a decent range of food on offer. Spaces to sit outdoors are also available and drinks/food can be enjoyed with a sea view. Crosby has a beautiful beach that is on the mouth of the Mersey estuary. Not only that, for more than 20 years, Crosby has been home to the Anthony Gormley art installation ‘Another Place’. These are life size sculptures - modelled on the artist’s body! Crosby is particularly impressive on a clear day to watch the sunset. During the summer months, an outdoor food market has been set up called The Bus Yard. Head here for some food and drinks first, before heading over to the beach to catch the impressive sunset. To watch as the sun dips below the horizon is a truly spectacular sight. My days in Liverpool were filled with excitement. I soaked in the history of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Royal Albert Dock, wandering through its stunning Victorian warehouses, now filled with a bustling mixture of museums, shops, and restaurants. As dusk fell, the city transformed into a playground for revellers, and the energetic nightlife of Seel Street came alive. With its vastarray of unique bars and live music venues, it was the perfect place to experience the vivacious spirit of Liverpool. Yet, despite the allure of the city, the experience that truly captured my heart and imagination was a short trip away, in Crosby Beach. Here, an army of 100 life-size cast-iron men stare out into the Irish Sea, seemingly oblivious to the world around them. Great place to chill and watch the sunset. I have never been to such a nice place. The weather is just amazing as well.

In the afternoon, the golden beach, green grass, and sparkling sea collide with each other, forming a highly saturated and magnificent oil painting. Walking along the beach, you will see Anthony Gormley's sculptures, a collection called "Another Place," standing on the coastline. The post-industrial era has transformed Blackpool and Southport, which were once severely polluted and damaged, into scenes of harmony between humans and nature. Take a stroll on the beach, admire the beautiful scenery, appreciate the art, and think about the relationship between nature and humanity. Although Crosby is not famous, it is really worth a visit. Heading north all the way to Blackpool, it offers a different flavor.
