Wen'an Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Hilton Wen'an Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
An American-style holiday mansion by the lake in the suburbs of Beijing, the Hilton Wen'an Hotel
Without using a search engine, I think most people would have no idea where Wen'an is, let alone know that there is a sizable water-friendly estate hidden here. I also learned about it when looking up the distribution of Hilton hotels, and then planned this relatively off-the-beaten-path trip.
The hotel is located in an open area by the water within the Luneng Ecological Tourism Resort, with a European castle exterior nestled among green trees and grass. Almost everywhere you look is filled with mountain and water views, offering a perfect retreat from the world. The interior decoration style can be imagined as a lakeside log cabin villa built by an American elderly couple who love Oriental culture, luxurious and comfortable.
The rooms are dominated by wood tones of varying depths, with leather-riveted wooden furniture of different materials, coarse linen fabric sofas with floral cushions, wrought iron chandeliers emitting warm orange light, and art pieces collected from travels to Southeast Asia, all creating a rustic aesthetic beauty that has settled over the years, making it irresistible to linger and keep taking photos. This is also the part of the hotel that I am most fond of.
Of course, there are also small flaws that break the mood, such as the use of plastic profiles for the room window frames, which visually do not resemble a hotel. After all, facing a pool of clear water, it is a pity not to have transparent floor-to-ceiling windows. Also, the bathtub is too small, requiring a contorted body to lie down, which is hard to match with the spacious suite.
This place is suitable for lying flat, completely flat. The hotel seems to have realized the purpose of the guests' visit, so the lounge is not open, and the alternative is to deliver happy hour to the room. However, it is said that the lounge service will be completely canceled after the May Day holiday. The swimming pool is also not open, as it is under maintenance. Although there are many amusement projects in the park, they are basically not open on weekdays. I had to rent a bicycle from the hotel and ride a big circle to avoid completely giving up on myself.
The dining output is the usual standard of domestic holiday hotels, with no expectations, there will be no disappointment. The level of service needs to be improved, as the hotel seems accustomed to hosting groups, and the process is very unfamiliar when there are occasional individual guests.
In summary, it is worth experiencing. Compared to the Shanghai area or the Pearl River Delta region, there are still too few similar resorts or theme parks in the Beijing-Tianjin area, and I hope there will be more and more in the future.
Tips, it is not far from Beijing and Tianjin, but it is recommended to drive due to inconvenient transportation. If you don't mind the hassle, you can also take a train to Bazhou and then take a taxi for about 50 yuan to get there. You must have a reservation for the day to enter the park.

3 days and 2 nights! Wen'an Luneng Resort, just an hour away from Beijing, liberates your weekend!
As the weather warms up, I've been looking for fun places around Beijing, and a friend recommended Wen'an Luneng Resort. It's really close to Beijing; just over an hour's drive and you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoying the tranquility and relaxation. I took advantage of the two days before Qingming to visit this provincial resort for some fun.
This weekend happens to coincide with the 🏈 City Waist Flag Football League, which is said to be the first waist flag football-specific field in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Teams from all over the country come here to compete, and the energy on-site is truly vibrant. The resort is said to host various events throughout the year, making it a travel destination that follows the events. The natural environment of the resort is very beautiful, with a European flair, and it boasts a wealth of facilities, offering everything you need for dining, entertainment, and fun... There are plenty of activities and novel projects.
How to enjoy 3 days and 2 nights?
DAY1: Watch the competition - Play racing at the Yunlv Field 🏎️ - Lunch at the Hilton Chinese Restaurant - Afternoon water sports at the Water Sports Center with water bikes and kayaking - Coffee at Cafe No. 7 and visit the wine castle
DAY2: Watch the competition - Water Golf ⛳️ - Lunch at the Hilton Chinese Restaurant - Pick fruits at the Agricultural Science Park - Gather around the stove for tea
Isn't that super rich? Haha, here are a few things I think are super fun:
🏎️ Go-karting: You must go to Yunlv Field to check out the go-karts. The racing outfits provided are just too cool. Once you put them on, you immediately feel like a racer. And the best part is that there are karts for children too, so the whole family can join in. Dad drove really fast, and the kids were overjoyed.
👍🚣 Water Sports Center: This is a must-recommend. It's not easy to find such a large body of water around Beijing. Most importantly, there are many activities to choose from here: cruise boats, water bikes, paddleboards, kayaks... There are so many options. Dad and Summer went kayaking, and I rode a water bike. The surrounding scenery is picturesque, and you can see the castle just by looking up. The environment is very nice; it's incomparable to Beihai Park.
☕️ The hidden cafe in the wine castle: This cafe is hidden inside the wine castle, Cafe No. 7. The environment is very retro, really photogenic, and there's a wide variety of coffee and drinks. I recommend the pistachio coffee and mango ice.
🏌️♀️ Water Golf: Playing golf facing the lake is different; it's refreshing and exhilarating. Even children can play, which is both elegant and fashionable.
🍅 Agricultural Science Park Picking: There's also a large picking base here. Recently, you can pick tomatoes, and after May Day, you can pick watermelons and melons. Pesticide-free is the way to go, suitable for family entertainment.
Gathering around the stove for tea: Opposite the picking area, I found a camping-style tea brewing spot with various packages to choose from. The tents here ⛺️ seem to be custom-made, with a very pastoral style, very photogenic. The kids can play here for an entire afternoon.
There are many accommodation options,
🏨 Hilton Hotel - 🏨 Holike Hotel - 🏨 Lakeside B&B - 🏨 Capsule B&B, there are still many choices. Next time, I want to try the Lakeside B&B, which is suitable for friends to come together.
Actually, there's still a lot I haven't experienced in the 2-day itinerary. There's horse riding in the park, and there's a children's farm that's really fun for kids to play. It's suitable for weekend family trips, injecting endless fun and fulfillment into the weekend.
A Great Weekend Getaway Around Beijing
Located in Langfang, Hebei, the Green Eco Resort Hotel Wen'an Luneng Hilton Hotel is just over an hour's drive from Beijing, situated in the town of Wen'an County, close to the Xiong'an New Area. The park is filled with greenery as far as the eye can see, glittering lakes, and gentle breezes, offering privacy and comfort. The park offers a variety of experiences, including farm picking, go-karting, water golf, boat rides, cycling, kayaking, equestrian clubs, and wine castles. The Waist Flag Rugby Invitational Tournament is being held here, and it's a real treat to watch. The venue is filled with the spirit of youth. The hotel's architectural style is modern castle-like, with 227 guest rooms and suites, including 17 executive deluxe suites. Each room is equipped with modern amenities, and the view from the hotel room windows is of beautiful lake scenery.
Hollick Hotel Wen'an, Tapestry Collcetion By Hilton Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
A niche check-in spot, Wen'an Horlicks Hilton Curio Collection by Hilton
The Hilton Group's niche brand Curio Collection by Hilton Tapestry currently has only three locations in Greater China: Taipei Times Residence, Horlicks in Wen'an, Hebei, and Lingshui Memu in Hainan, as well as the upcoming fourth location, Chengdu Pure Memu, set to open this year. Judging by the choice of location and decoration style, it seems to be on par with Marriott's Autograph Collection or IHG's Hotel Indigo, focusing on differentiated expression to showcase the individuality of independent hotels in different cities.
Horlicks Hotel is located more than 80 kilometers south of Beijing Daxing Airport, within the Wen'an Luneng Ecological Resort, sharing Lake Heart Island with the neighboring Hilton. Compared to the Hilton, which follows the family resort route, Horlicks focuses on showcasing the core essence of the Curio Collection by Hilton, creating a boutique hotel escape from the city. The reception hall is not large, eschewing high ceilings and lavish decorations for lighting and elegant furnishings. On the first floor, there are also several relatively independent spaces with character, such as the lobby lounge and the Magpie Tree Club, each with its own outstanding temperament, quiet and serene.
Very generous to Diamond members, with direct upgrades to suites without communication. The one-bedroom, one-living room, double-bathroom layout is spacious and well-proportioned, with an outdoor balcony overlooking the lake. The overall decoration style is simple and refined, with Morandi color aesthetics on point. Especially the linearly divided three-sided mirror above the washbasin, which is very impressive. Of course, there are flaws, such as the threshold between the living room and the balcony being abnormally high, which is easy to trip over. The shower drain has a back smell, and it's unclear whether this is an isolated issue with this room or a common problem.
Perhaps due to the off-season, the restaurant was closed, and breakfast had to be had at the Hilton, which was only satisfactory in terms of filling up. As a boutique hotel without an executive lounge, even the Mini bar in the room was empty, which seemed a bit inhospitable. The gym is small, with no swimming pool, and although the neighboring Hilton has one, it was under maintenance. In short, aside from resting, there are almost no other experiences available in the hotel.
In summary, it's worth checking out, suitable for a weekend getaway in the Jing-Jin-Ji area. Staying one night at each of the two hotels, and if you don't want the hassle, Horlicks is the more recommended choice.
