🏠Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base
Alias: "Panda Kindergarten"
Location: Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan
Environment: Close to Wolong, at an altitude of 1700 meters, surrounded by mountains, the natural environment is very good
Ticket Price: Adults 90/person, Minors 45/person🎫

💡Several reasons to recommend Wolong Panda Base
✅1. This is the headquarters of the China Giant Panda Research Center🐮 (except for the Walnut Ping Base which is not open for public visits), many pandas from Dujiangyan and Ya'an were transferred from Shenshuping.
✅2. The natural environment is very good, cool in summer⛰️ because it is surrounded by mountains, and in winter it's rare to see snow in Sichuan and you can encounter snow pandas (🔔Hot Knowledge: Pandas are not afraid of cold but heat!!!)
✅3. Panda Kindergarten!!! Here you can see 3 little pandas climbing trees, sitting in a row, eating and other super cute activities! Only in Wolong can you see this~
✅4. The design of the giant panda enclosures here is very good, because the base is very large, all concentrated on one hillside, it is very convenient for visitors to play inside, and the panda living environment🏠 is also very good~
✅5. This is a base where you can volunteer with pandas! But children need to be over 8 years old
✅6. There's one more reason recently: you have the chance to see Fubao here!!!
⚠️TIPS: Because the Wolong base is far from the city area~ It is recommended for friends who can drive there!

‼️Panda volunteer recruitment is ongoing ING
Limited spots, and the summer vacation is a busy travel season
Friends who want to experience being a "Panda Poop Shoveler" are advised to book early~
Annual inventory of the most recommended places for everyone to go hiking to see snow | Haier Dang
| Haier Dang.🏡City: Sichuan
📍Location: Tangfang, Wolong Town, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture
❄️Features: A free snow play spot that has not been developed.
🐾Hiking guide:
We climbed to the top of the neighboring mountain, about 4500m above sea level. After reaching the snow line, climb to the left, and Haier Dang is on the right.
·
It takes about half an hour to reach Tangfang, Wolong Town, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan from Siguniang Mountain Town.
·
Time: Round trip in one day. The snow on the summit is relatively thick, so the walk is relatively slow. If you want to reach the summit, start early, start hiking at 9-10 in the morning, and you can return to the starting point of the car at 5-6 in the afternoon.
·
Distance: More than ten kilometers round trip.
·
Track two bl: Wandering mountaineering - Gree Peak (Haier Dang)
·
Note⚠️:
1️⃣The snow on the summit is thick, don't take pictures too close to the edge, pay attention to safety.
2️⃣The temperature difference between morning and evening and noon is large, it is particularly cold when the sun is about to set, pay attention to keeping warm.
3️⃣Dress🧥: Warm hat, snow goggles, face mask, quick-drying underwear, down jacket, storm jacket, storm pants, hiking shoes, snow cover, ice claws, thick gloves, hiking poles.
4️⃣Be sure to pay attention to safety when going down the mountain, don't try to slide down easily, the snow here is relatively loose, and there are many protruding stones underneath, it is easy to get injured when sliding down, be sure to pay attention to the safety of your feet when going down the mountain!
5️⃣Civilized hiking, take away the trash!
The world suddenly turns into evening, and the mountains and rivers have already entered autumn--the colorful forests in western Sichuan
The world suddenly turns into evening, and the mountains and rivers have already entered autumn--the colorful forests in western Sichuan.
⛳ It's a 3-hour drive from Chengdu, a lesser-known wild mountain in Wolong Town, Aba Prefecture.
🍂 The best viewing season is from late October to early November. There is a meadow on the top of the mountain called 'Baoshan Pasture'. This mountain is not as popular as Ganhaizi, and there are few visitors. You may occasionally meet some experienced hikers on the road. There are colorful forests, meadows, plum forests, and primitive forests on the mountain. The scenery is no less than Ganhaizi.
It is recommended not to drive up the mountain by yourself. The road on the mountain is very narrow. We took a transfer car from the locals at the foot of the mountain to the halfway up the mountain. It costs 30 yuan per person for a round trip. It takes another 1.5 hours to walk from the drop-off point to the top of the mountain, passing through a primitive forest.
👐 Because it is a wild mountain, there are no toilets and supply stations along the way, so you need to carry everything yourself. There are cherry red plums, potatoes, Tibetan pumpkins, radishes, cabbages, and yak meat for sale at the foot of the mountain. You can take some home on your way.
🙆 It is recommended to bring children who have mountaineering experience or are over 5 years old. The road is steep and not suitable for young children.

Here is the lake of tranquility, the lake is quiet, like a poem and painting. You can take a walk by the lake, or rent a small boat to cruise on the lake, feel the tranquility and freedom. 🌄🌄🌄 In addition to the lake, there are also majestic mountains, dense forests, peculiar stone scenery and other natural scenery, which make people linger and forget to return. A hidden paradise in Shuimo Town.
I have to say, this place is really beautiful.
I'm used to the concrete jungle of the city, but this place is like a paradise from a poet's pen.
The hotel is in a great location. Every morning, I wake up to the sound of the stream, and for the first time, I feel so close to nature. I feel so relaxed.
I can't say enough good things about this place. It's really worth a visit, even just for a weekend.
The address is in Wenchuan. Just search for Shuimo Town. It's about an hour from Chengdu.
Hotel name: Shouxi Yueju
Round-trip from Chengdu to Laoya Mountain to see the colorful forest.
The advantage of living in the west gate is that it is close to the attractions. It took us 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to Gengda Laoya Mountain from home. This place is more difficult to hike than Songlin Bay, mainly because it is steeper. Those without hiking experience will find it very tiring, but for those of us who often run outside, it is okay!
Navigation: Gengda Town Government (the entrance is opposite the government with a road sign)
Parking spot: It is recommended to park at the entrance, no charge, to avoid traffic jams when you come out.
There are local private cars along the way, and it is very convenient to take their transfer cars up the mountain. You can also drive all the way to the parking spot at the foot of the mountain, but the road is narrow and it is difficult to pass the car. You need an experienced driver, but there are farmhouses where you can park along the way.
About hiking ✅✅✅
It is not recommended to hike up the mountain. The road is narrow and there are many cars honking all the way, which is not a good experience (don't ask me how I know). It is recommended to take a transfer car to Village 1 and start hiking after getting off the car! The scenery from Village 1 to Village 2 is very good. There are snacks, roasted potatoes, and marinated meat for sale along the way (bring cash! Bring cash! There is no signal above). You can rest here and continue to the meadow 1. This section will be steeper, and it will be a little tiring to walk. It is recommended that those who are not physically fit just play and take pictures at the meadow 1. The road to the meadow 2 is difficult to walk, and the scenery is average.
❤️❤️❤️ The most beautiful places are from Village 1 to Village 2 and Meadow 1. There are many gentle lambs that you can touch, and there is a wooden house where you can take pictures!
If you go on weekends, it is recommended to buy a one-way ticket for the transfer car, because the return time of the driver may not be suitable! You can keep a driver's phone number! But there is no signal on the meadow!
How to avoid traffic jams on weekends ✅✅✅
1️⃣ Go early in the morning and there will be no traffic jams, and the light is beautiful for taking pictures at that time! If possible, stay overnight in advance.
2️⃣ Try to reach the village entrance before 3 pm when going down the mountain, as there are fewer people taking the car down the mountain at this time! We arrived at the village entrance at 4 pm on Sunday, and there were not many people taking the car, but we had to wait for the car to come up. We didn't want to wait, so we chose to walk down by ourselves, playing while walking for more than an hour.
3️⃣ It is best not to park the car too far inside, just park outside and take the transfer car at the same price.

Sichuan Travel | Wenchuan's Hidden Gem: A'er Valley
Western Sichuan is truly a tourist paradise. No matter how many famous attractions it already has, new ones keep emerging every year. Who knows how many hidden gems are still waiting to be discovered? A'er Valley in Wenchuan is one of them.
📍Location: A'er Valley, Wenchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province
🎫Tickets: None
🌟Scenic All Year Round: A'er Valley is a place that offers beauty in every season. In spring, you can enjoy a sea of flowers; in summer, it's a cool retreat; in autumn, it's perfect for hiking; and in winter, it's a great ski resort. Each season offers something unique.
🌟Cool Summer Retreat: In Sichuan, where the "autumn tiger" heat can be relentless, you might need a jacket here. The fresh mountain air and misty landscapes give it a Zhangjiajie-like feel, making it ideal for a summer retreat. There are several resort hotels in the mountains to choose from.
🌟Outdoor Hiking: A'er Valley is famous for its hiking trails. Gear up and dive into the mountains. After about 4 hours, you'll reach a lake known as the "Western Sichuan version of Altay." It's a photographer's dream. Unfortunately, we couldn't reach it due to the weather, but we're looking forward to trying again next time.
🌟Winter Skiing: As winter approaches, A'er Valley becomes a ski destination. As one of the few alpine ski resorts in Sichuan, it offers good equipment and slopes. It's said to be getting a major upgrade this year, so we're eagerly awaiting winter!
Sichuan Travel | Wenchuan Travel Guide
Want to learn about history and culture, enjoy natural scenery, and avoid the crowds? Then come to Wenchuan! Here's a guide for you.
1. Yingxiu Earthquake Memorial Museum
This is a must-see for anyone visiting Wenchuan. It is not only a memorial to a major disaster, but also a testament to the unity of the whole country. As time goes by, Wenchuan has become a popular health resort. While remembering history, you can also witness the tremendous changes in Wenchuan.
2. Misty Sanjiang
Misty Sanjiang is a cool and pleasant place, and the misty rain is the source of many stories. Visit the Sanjiang Braid Hero Memorial Hall and listen to the story of the Braid Tomb. The unyielding spirit of the Sichuan people is on full display here. It's also a great place for rafting in the summer!
3. Xiqiang Cultural Street
As one of the four Qiang ethnic settlements in China, Qiang culture can be found everywhere in Wenchuan, and Xiqiang Cultural Street is a microcosm of it. The Tibetan and Qiang-style architecture is unique, and it is also the first provincial-level tourist and leisure street in Aba Prefecture.
4. Miansi Tofu
Made from soybeans and natural spring water from Daxigou through a series of complex processes. It is not only white and tender in color and soft in texture, but also rich in bean flavor, melts in your mouth, and is rich in nutrients. It is also a county-level intangible cultural heritage of Wenchuan.
Pet-friendly travel guide for Sichuan Yunzhong Pasture.
🚗Transportation: Driving is the most convenient way to get there. Just navigate to Yunzhong Pasture and park in the designated area. If you take public transportation, you need to transfer to another vehicle after arriving at the surrounding area.
🎫Tickets: Just buy a regular ticket.
🧺Preparation: Bring a leash, pet bowl, and enough water and food for your pet. You can also bring a small blanket for your pet to rest on. If the weather is hot, don't forget to bring sunscreen for your pet.
🐕Activities: The pasture is perfect for pets to run around. You can run with your pet on the vast grassland and let it enjoy the fresh air. But be careful not to let your pet disturb the cattle and sheep. There are several open spaces where you can play ball games with your pet. You can also take beautiful photos of your pet in scenic spots. Playing with your beloved pet in this picturesque pasture is a lot of fun.
📝Tips:
If you choose Route A, it usually takes about 3–4 hours to visit Sichuan Yunzhong Pasture. Route A is relatively easy, with an altitude of about 2,700 meters and a round trip of about 5 kilometers. After getting off the car, you can walk a short distance to the first meadow swing. Continue uphill to enjoy the beautiful scenery at the second swing, where the meadow and sea of clouds intertwine. It's a great place for picnics, photos, and relaxation.
If you choose Route B, it takes about 5–6 hours. Route B is more challenging, with an altitude of over 3,000 meters, a round trip of 10 kilometers, and an elevation gain of about 800 meters. After the second swing, you need to cross the bushes and climb to the top of Yunzhongling Mountain at 3,050 meters. But the ridge is steep and risky on rainy days, so be careful.
If you just want a simple experience, you can spend 1–2 hours in the pasture, check in at the popular swing, interact with cattle and sheep, and enjoy its unique charm.
How are you, Wenchuan?
I visited Jiuzhaigou during the Qingming Festival and passed through Wenchuan. It brought back memories of the 1998 earthquake: the man who carried his wife to her grave, the boy who asked for a Coke, the paratroopers who jumped into Wenchuan without a landing zone... The stories are heartbreaking. The tour bus entered Wenchuan (now called Wuyou City) and slowed down, so I took some photos through the window. This is a new city built on a different site. Provinces and cities across the country lent a helping hand. My school donated thousands of yuan, and more than 30 students donated blood. The tour guide from Aba Prefecture said that the tallest building was built with aid from Guangdong, and it is the most eye-catching. They are grateful. That is the gymnasium built with aid, and that is... all of them are the love of the people of China. I will arrange a visit to the Wenchuan Earthquake Site next time.
Nice Place for Holiday and recommended place to visit Lovely Pandas
Chengdu 1.5h | A relatively wild family hiking route.
📍Jianjian Tree
🚗Drive: 1.5 hours
📖Route: 5 km small loop
🕐Time: About 4 hours for the loop, with pine cones and kiwis along the way ⛰The descent will be along the river with large stones and gravel roads, not suitable for young children, more suitable for climbing and balance training
✔A less crowded and niche route, full of wild fun. You can pick wild kiwis, pine cones, and wild fruits. ✔The Tea Horse Road in Longchi section, there will be sheep 💩 along the way, and you will also see sheep ✔If you bring children under 5 years old, you can walk back and forth, the road ahead is still very easy to walk. ✔For those who like challenges, you can choose the small loop and the big loop, ⛰We walked the 5 km small loop on the road book, because of the summer flood, the road along the valley was basically washed away, and we could only walk the large stone section of the valley, which was a test of people's knees. It is also this large stone valley section that is the feature of this route, which can train children's climbing and support and terrain analysis skills. 🧭Navigation: Jianjian Tree 🚗Self-drive: 1.5 hours, parking fee 10 yuan 💡Bring your own road meal, download offline maps in advance, some sections have no signal ✅Dressing suggestions: Quick-drying clothes for autumn climbing, windproof vests and pants will be more suitable Quick-drying clothes ensure dryness and sweat absorption, windproof pants and vests ensure warmth and easy to put on and take off For general wild routes, we will wear long pants to avoid mosquito bites and plant cuts Please protect the environment, take away garbage, and stay away from fire sources

Chengdu | Wolong also has great hot spring homestays.
Wolong also has great hot spring homestays. Located in the Wolong National Nature Reserve, the homestay is surrounded by mountains and forests and has a garden style with beautiful scenery.
We stayed in a hot spring room on the third floor, where we could see the green mountains and rivers. The hot spring pool in the room was quite large, and the window view was also full of greenery.
The entire homestay is surrounded by flowers and plants, and the paths in the forest are lined with various roses and hydrangeas.
There are rabbits, ducks, and black swans in the garden, and they have their own homes.
This ecological environment is very suitable for family trips.
The homestay is built by the mountains and rivers, and there is a plank road along the river. It seems that there are rainbow trout in the river, so don't miss it if you like fishing.
The temperature difference is quite obvious, so it is best to bring a coat in summer. The air in the morning is very fresh.
You can feel the breeze and the tranquility of the mountains, and you will feel much lighter.
Even if you only stay in the mountains for one night, you can fully relax and enjoy the pure vacation surrounded by greenery, which will truly bring you physical and mental pleasure.
The breakfast at the homestay is quite ordinary, with traditional nine-grid dishes and porridge.
It is recommended to drive to the town for dinner, which takes about 10 minutes.

1. Be sure to wear hiking shoes. It is cold in the mountains, so wear more clothes.
2. Bring plenty of hot water and food.
3. There is a lot of cow dung at Risi Jia Ranch, so bring a cushion.
4. Do not tease the cattle. Safety first.
5. It is recommended to join a group. There are many wild roads, and it is easy to get lost without a guide.

📍Lalahu, a hidden hiking spot, is located in Wolong Nature Reserve, Wenchuan County, over 100 kilometers from Chengdu, about a 2-hour drive. Not only are there giant pandas, golden monkeys, and takins, which are national key protected animals and rare plants, but it is also an excellent area for hiking and mountaineering, with an altitude climb of
✅1200, suitable for those with good physical strength or certain outdoor experience. If you like niche and exploring hidden check-in spots, you must come here for a challenge, see the grassland, and watch herds of cows and horses grazing leisurely.
There are few people here, it is located in a remote place, and it has not been tainted by any commercial atmosphere.
📍Navigation: Wenchuan Chuanbei Camp
⛰Mountain climbing road conditions: It is estimated to be 10 kilometers round trip, about 6 hours
🧗♀Climbing height: 1200. The whole process is a ladder-style climb, and there is a platform after climbing a platform
❗❗❗Track download: Although there are obvious traces along the way, just in case, download the track
〽️Equipment: Single-day hiking backpack, hat, stormtrooper suit, knee pads, sunscreen, trekking poles (double poles recommended), gloves, high-top hiking shoes, power bank, garbage bag, road meal (no supply along the way), first aid kit, headlamp (in case it gets dark when going down the mountain)
⁉️Precautions: All are dirt and muddy roads, pay attention to anti-skid, some sections have no signal, go with a companion.
💣There are locusts after the rain, pay attention to tighten the trouser legs👻.
✅It's no problem to climb this route slowly. Under normal circumstances, you should be able to play for about an hour when you reach the top.
✅It's cold in Aba, autumn and winter equipment can be prepared, short sleeves to the top, pay attention to hypothermia! Danger!
✅Lalahu is the place where I have seen the most cows, sheep, and horses, so there are more poops🐴🐂
A new popular hiking route in Wenchuan, the scenery of Al Gou is indeed beautiful.
With the rise of outdoor sports, the popularity of mountain hiking has also increased in the past two years. In particular, Nanji Luo in Yunnan has been on the hot search several times, attracting a large number of young people to fly to Yunnan for hiking tours. However, on this trip to Wenchuan, I found a hiking destination in Western Sichuan that is no less than Nanji Luo: Al Gou.
Al Gou is located in Wenchuan County, and the entrance is just outside the Qiangren Valley Ski Resort. You can navigate to the Al Gou Scenic Area Labor Union Outdoor Workers Service Point by car, and there is a parking lot nearby for convenience. You can also take a bus to Wenchuan County and then take a taxi to get there.
The difficulty of hiking in Al Gou is not high, and the round trip is about 10 kilometers. The Dragon Pool at an altitude of 3900 meters is the end point for basic hiking. Start hiking at 10:00 am and return around 3:00 pm. The road conditions along the way are also good, and the oxygen content in the valley is sufficient, so there is no need to worry about altitude sickness. You can walk with confidence.
The first half of the valley is a stream and forest, with crystal-clear water and lush green forests. When I came here, it was drizzling, and the mountains were shrouded in mist, like a fairyland. The second half is a continuous mountain range and vast alpine grassland. In summer, it is green, and in autumn, it is colorful and very beautiful. Of course, the most beautiful place is still the Dragon Pool on the mountain, with a cliff behind it, like a gem embedded in the mountainside, which is particularly magical.
Al Gou is still under development, and there are no supply stations along the way. Remember to buy some water and snacks before hiking, and of course, remember to take your trash with you to protect this pristine secret land.
After coming out of Al Gou, you can stay at the Li Xia Boutique Guesthouse at night. It is close to the Panda Lake of Wolong National Panda Park, with beautiful scenery. I had a delicious meal at the guesthouse, the food was good and the price was not expensive. The guesthouse has a basketball court and a children's play area, and it also raises rabbits, which is very fun for children.
The most sentimental attraction in Wenchuan, still heavy after 16 years.
What we can see now is the earthquake site of Xuankou Middle School, which is one of the few buildings that were not completely destroyed during the earthquake that year, so that we can more intuitively feel the horror of the earthquake.
When you walk in, the first thing you see is the huge clock statue at the school gate and the broken teaching building. The time on the stone clock is always set at 2:28 pm on May 12, 2008, which is the time when the earthquake occurred that year; behind the stone clock is the original five-story teaching building, now only three floors are left, and the dormitory next to it can only see four floors, and the first floor is completely sunk underground.
All the buildings seen in the old site, the exterior walls are incomplete, exposing twisted steel bars, broken glass and squeezed deformed walls, everything seems to be telling the horror of the earthquake that year, most of the interpreters in the scenic area have personally experienced the earthquake that year, without deliberate sensationalism, the real interpretation has made everyone feel particularly heavy.
After watching the earthquake site of Xuankou Middle School, there is also the [Wenchuan Earthquake Yingxiu Epicenter Memorial Hall] next to it, which is worth a special visit. This special exhibition hall, which started construction in 2009 and officially opened to the outside world in 2012, is not only a simple building, but also a deep memory of the victims in the 5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake, and a firm belief in the future.
The entire exhibition hall is divided into five major themes. When you walk into the entrance hall, the first thing you see is the timeline, which records the bits and pieces from the earthquake to the present; when you walk into the area of the severe destruction of the earthquake, each photo and exhibit will show the destruction of the earthquake. It is extremely real; when you walk into the area where everyone is united to fight against the earthquake and disaster relief, you see countless volunteers and rescue teams risking their lives, showing the greatness of human nature in the face of disaster; when you walk into the area of self-reliance and scientific reconstruction, you see the motherland through a series of emergency rescue and long-term reconstruction work, so that the ruins are rejuvenated; there is also a 4D earthquake simulation hall, where you can experience the horror of the earthquake.
Back to the county town, you can visit the Xiqiang Cultural Street. This beautiful folk street is built along the river, full of homestays and gourmet restaurants. There are also pavilions and rest areas on the roadside. You can stop for a cup of tea and enjoy the scenery. Feel the beauty of post-disaster reconstruction and calm down.
This is probably the closest I've ever been to a national treasure.
📍Location: Wolong Shenshuping Panda Base, a place where you'll be overwhelmed by the cuteness of the pandas.

Go to Wangyou Valley to relax and unwind.
It's only about 1.5 hours away from Chengdu.
You can bring your own food and camping equipment. We didn't prepare beforehand, so we rented them at the scenic area. There's also a shared kitchen where you can cook your own food.🍳
