Winery tasting tour 🥂
Australia is rich in grapes 🍇 and red wine 🍷. When you come to Western Australia, you must visit the winery and taste the wine 🍷.
Sandalford Wines is a well-known local winery, located on the scenic Margaret River.
After paying for admission, you can visit the winery, and staff briefly introduce the wine 🍷 brewing process, then the highlight, red, white wine 🥂 any try, wine is indeed good to drink, finally buy the wine 🍾, full and back.

A beautiful winery in Margaret River - Amelia Park
Amelia Park is one of the most beautiful winery in Margaret River. The winery includes a cellar , a restaurant and a huge vineyard. The parking space is large !
The cellar is so beautiful from the outside to the inside. The owner has a high level taste on the interior design.
The testing wine list includes wine from $20 to $80 per bottle. Just purchase any bottle of wine so you could test 5 different types of wine.
The most special one is the Grenache , it is just produced from the home estate 🏡
The whole wine testing process is smooth. The staff give us time to try and never rush us so we have time to make the decision.
Overall
Wine 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Environment 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 (yes , it is more than 5 , because the winery is really beautiful)

A Perfect Afternoon at Sandalford Wines 🍷
An afternoon at Sandalford Wines is one of the easiest ways to slow down and enjoy the best of Western Australia’s wine region. Set among scenic vineyards, it’s an ideal spot for a relaxed meal paired with thoughtfully curated wines and fresh, seasonal produce. The atmosphere strikes a balance between refined and welcoming—perfect whether you’re stopping in for a tasting or settling in for a long lunch. After your meal, take some time to wander the estate and soak in the surroundings—it’s as much about the experience as it is the wine.
💡 A few tips will make your visit even better:
Call ahead to reserve a table, especially on weekends, as it’s a popular destination.
Arrive a little earlier than your booking to enjoy a tasting before you eat, and don’t skip the shop on your way out—picking up a bottle or two is the perfect way to take the experience home with you.
Go in the afternoon for the best light and a more relaxed pace, and plan to linger—this isn’t a place you’ll want to rush.

Slow Afternoons & Margaret River Reds: Hay Shed Hill Wines 🍷🌿
#australiatrip
Set among rolling vineyards in Margaret River, Hay Shed Hill Wines feels intimate and unpretentious in the best way. The setting is classic wine country — neat rows of vines, open skies, and that quiet rural calm that instantly slows your pace.
The tasting experience leans relaxed rather than formal. You’re encouraged to explore the range at your own speed, noticing the character of Margaret River’s signature varietals. Sitting with a glass in hand, looking out over the vines, it’s less about analysing notes and more about enjoying the moment — good wine, fresh air, and nowhere else you need to be.
Hay Shed Hill isn’t flashy or over-the-top; it’s grounded and welcoming. By the time you leave, it feels like you’ve had a proper Margaret River afternoon — simple, scenic, and effortlessly enjoyable.

Margaret River Wine Tour: A Journey Through Australia’s Best Vineyards
Our visit to Margaret River began with a wine-tasting adventure at one of the region’s renowned vineyards. We were guided through a selection of rich reds and crisp whites, each offering a unique taste of the region’s renowned winemaking. The vineyard’s peaceful surroundings, with endless rows of grapevines, made the experience even more memorable.
We continued our journey, stopping at a few more wineries, each offering different styles and flavors. From boutique wineries to larger estates, the variety of wines was incredible. After several tastings, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at a vineyard restaurant, where fresh local ingredients paired perfectly with the wines we had sampled. It was the ideal way to cap off a day of exploring Margaret River’s finest wines and breathtaking scenery.

Autumn in the vineyard at Sandalford Wines
Sandalford Wines is one of Western Australia’s oldest wineries, which began in 1840 and located at Swan Valley. A beautifully designed vineyard with perfectly manicured gardens. Take in the pretty scenery as you enjoy your glass of fine wine. 🥂
A complimentary wine tasting was offered at the cellar door since I chose to dine in at the Sandalford restaurant connected to the cellar door. Four choices of wine were offered to me for wine tasting. I got to choose from among a large variety of drier wines, sparking and sweet wines. Next, prepare yourself for a gastronomic experience at the restaurant. The food tasted amazing. 🍷
End off your trip by taking mandatory photos with the vineyard and the scenic backdrop of clear blue skies! 🍁
Places to visit nearby
· Other wineries, Margaret River Chocolate Factory, Providore, Yahava KoffeeWorks
How to get there or travel to nearby places
· Book a swan river taxi through their website any time to your destination if you’re not driving, as taxis are not readily available at these places. I have tried last minute booking of swan river taxis and it’s efficient.
· For those living a high life, opt for a helicopter ride. I chanced upon a couple taking off on a helicopter.
