The most renowned spot for cherry blossoms is the Moshan Cherry Blossom Garden, located on the eastern shore of the lake. This garden boasts over 10,000 cherry trees of more than 80 varieties. The blooming season typically lasts from late February to late March. During this time, the park transforms into a sea of pink and white flowers, and in the evening, the trees are illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere. The park also features other themed gardens: an apricot garden, a lotus garden (blooms in summer), and a chrysanthemum garden (blooms in autumn). To visit, you need a ticket to East Lake Park (around 60 yuan), which includes entry to the cherry blossom garden. You can get there by taking Metro Line 8 to Lichzhou Station or by bus to Donghu Moguang stop. Nearby, there is a hanfu rental service where you can dress up and take beautiful photos among the blooming trees. I recommend the Maple Leaf Hotel at Wuhan Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street. Why? It’s located between Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street and the Cedar Road Food Street in Wansongyuan, making it convenient to access both. Hotels in the middle of the business district are not only expensive but also noisy—those who know, know! Additionally, you can explore the "First Gun of China" Hanyang Arsenal site. ⭐ Wuhan University: Established in 1893 as the Self-Strengthening School by Zhang Zhidong, the Governor-General of Huguang during the late Qing Dynasty, it has a rich historical heritage and is China’s first modern higher education institution. ⭐ East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden: Located on the southern slope of the East Lake Moshan Scenic Area, a national 5A scenic spot, the first batch of cherry blossoms here was gifted by former Japanese Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka to Deng Yingchao, who then donated them to Wuhan East Lake. Wuhan East Lake Moshan Cherry Blossom Garden, along with Japan’s Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Garden in Aomori Prefecture and the United States’ Washington State Cherry Blossom Garden, is known as one of the world’s three major cherry blossom capitals. Day 3: Lihuangpi Road Street Museum + Gude Temple Lihuangpi Road: Built in 1900 (Guangxu 26th year), it was named after Huangpi people. Due to two-time President of the Republic of China Li Yuanhong being from Huangpi, the road was renamed Lihuangpi Road in 1946. It was divided into British, French, Russian, German, and Japanese concessions, with 12 foreign consulates established, making it the "Oriental Chicago" where colonizers indulged themselves. Gude Temple: Located at No. 74, Huapo, Huangpu Road, Hankou, Wuhan, this temple blends Eurasian religious architectural styles, integrating Mahayana, Theravada, and Tibetan Buddhism. It’s rare among Chinese Buddhist temples and is considered "a great spectacle of Buddhist holy sites" and "the first wonder of Chinese Buddhist temples," with high architectural, cultural, and historical research value.
