Under the blazing sun, we headed to the last stop of this trip: Tiemenguan. Tiemenguan is located in the northern suburbs of Korla, between the Huo La Mountain branch of the Tianshan Mountains and the Kuluktag Mountain. More than 2,000 years ago, this was a strategic choke point on the middle route of the ancient Silk Road.
