A general admission ticket costs 30 yuan and includes a free ticket for rafting (which takes place at a nearby reservoir, though we didn’t go rafting in the end). After entering, walk straight ahead and turn right to find the ticket checkpoint. From there, just follow the path and explore. The highlight of the area is undoubtedly Hobbit Town, which was the main reason for our visit. The combination of grassy fields and quaint little houses makes for great photo opportunities, and it wasn’t crowded. Further inside, you’ll find Gaochang Ancient Town, which features a very realistic fake donkey—some people even mistake it for a real one at first glance.
