Transportation: 1. 🚄 High-speed rail: Guiyang North - Anshun West - Bus to the scenic area 1.5h 69r 2. 🚌 Guiyang Airport Airport direct bus to Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area 3h 90r 3. 🚗 Airport Shunfeng Car to Huangguoshu Waterfall 2h 205r (Missed the airport bus at the landing time, and wanted to go to Xiaoqikong later, didn't want to toss, I chose option 3) 🔴 Play Guide: Huangguoshu Waterfall - Tianxingqiao (second half) - Doupotang (86 Journey to the West filming location) 🗾 Huangguoshu Waterfall (including photo 1.5h) Take the scenic sightseeing bus to Huangguoshu Waterfall, hike down the mountain (20 minutes), you will pass 3 viewing platforms, view Huangguoshu Waterfall from high to low, there are signs to Shuiliandong (recommended to bring a raincoat) go directly in, this section is all the way down the mountain, finally to the low end of Huangguoshu Waterfall, close-up of the big waterfall, then take a one-way escalator up. 🗾 Tianxingqiao (including photo 2h) A more physically demanding attraction, divided into the first half and the second half, the first half has a wishing pavilion, a stone road with 365 days a year printed on it, and some artificial landscapes, I only walked the second half which was very exciting, perfectly avoiding the commercial area of Gaolaozhuang, the second half passed 88 iron cable bridge-bridge on bridge-Tianxingdong-Maoshui pool-Silver chain waterfall-cableway. ‼️ How to get to the second half of Tianxingqiao?‼️ Do not enter when you arrive at the entrance of Tianxingqiao, face the main gate and walk up the slope stairs on the left, go against the flow of tourists all the way, you will see Huangguoshu Folk Snack City, walk all the way to the very lively fruit stalls, do not go down the stairs from the stalls, there is a parking lot on the left hand side behind the stalls, after seeing the toilet, there will be a signpost for the second half of Tianxingqiao. 🗾 Doupotang (including photo 1.5h) Relatively gentle, the attraction is not big, 86 Journey to the West filming location, the waterfall is short and fat, if time is not enough, you can skip here. Stayed in a hotel near Huangguoshu Scenic Area the night before, 7 minutes walk to the entrance of the scenic area, very convenient, the hotel can also pick up and drop off the scenic area. Taking my parents on the fourth stop of our trip, we arrived at the Huangguoshu Waterfall in Anshun, and there happened to be a homestay brand that I really like, so I chose this homestay without hesitation. Upon first seeing Jianglu Yueshan, the white exterior of the homestay showcased its unique modern charm. Located on the edge of a river valley cliff, it overlooks the distant Balin River Bridge. The infinity pool jutting out from the cliff perfectly blends into nature. When you are there, it feels as if you are in a real painting. As night falls, sitting by the pool, the distant mountains seem even more mysterious. The spring breeze gently caresses my face, and at that moment, my whole heart is healed, it is peaceful. 🛖Homestay Name: Jianglu·Yueshan 🛕Homestay Features: 1. The butler's service makes you feel cared for. The free evening tea by the hearth is something you can enjoy. 2. The waterfall is amazing! Especially when you are going through the tunnel under it. But gosh, it was sososo crowded this July: in the line in the tunnel people almost didn't move... Huangguoshu Waterfall Cost- ¥210 for adults Attractions - A shuttle bus will take you to 3 scenic areas, however, Huangguoshu Waterfall is by far the best attraction in the park. You can observe the waterfall from below, above and behind! We recommend staying close to the park so you can arrive as early as possible to avoid the crowds. We stayed in Zhenning, Anshun. Huangguoshu Waterfall at night

Last year, one of the most famous waterfall in China launch night travel. It is a wonderful experience to both experience the beauty of nature with well designed performance and light show. With student discounts, only 100+ bucks, it is well worth the experience. When we are traveling, due to the Covid reason, the attraction is almost empty, which gives tourists much better experience. The performance is great, and at night, the temperature is much cooler. Such tour is recommended if you want to have a less crowded experience for the waterfall and enjoy the wanderful performances. The only downside is that the tickets is different from the day travel and you cannot buy one ticket to enjoy both day view and night view.

Guizhou Mountain Escape

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and escape to the mountainous region of Guizhou. This boutique hotel is nestled in a partially developed serene forest area of Zhenning (just outside of Anshun). If you’re looking for rest and relaxation without any disturbances then this is your place to go. The room that we were in had a bathtub overlooking the mountains and Balinghe Bridge. Both of which looked breathtaking at sunrise and sunset. * Getting There - At the Anshun railway station we managed to get a private cab that took us to this hotel. We had to negotiate a fair price with him and asked him to collect us as well upon checkout. * Attractions - The hotel overlooks the striking Balinghe Brige which can you bungee jump off depending on the weather. The Balinghe Bridge holds the Guinness World Record for the being the highest (370.25m) commercial bungee jump facility in the world. * Food & Restaurants - The only food available was that of the hotel. It has a breathtaking view of the Balinghe Bridge as well as of the mountains across from it. * Address – Manzhai Village, Zhenning * Getting There - We took a shuttle to our destination and back again. This place is remote so I suggest that you should make proper travel arrangements for pickup with the same person that dropped you off. From the railway station, it is about a 45-minute drive here and you can easily find a shuttle/metered cab/Didi from the train station. * Ambiance/Facilities – There is nothing do here except relax and take in the tranquility that this hotel has to offer. There is a view deck on the top of the hotel as well as a tea house. The restaurant serves delicious Guizhou style food. * Highlights – The venue itself is a highlight. After getting off at Anshun West Station, you can take the direct bus to the scenic area or carpool. We chose to carpool to save time, which cost about CNY 22 per person and took about 50 minutes to get to the ticket office. The ticket is CNY 160, and the sightseeing bus is CNY 50, which is a must-buy. It takes 15 minutes to get to the main entrance of the waterfall. If you have time, you can walk to the waterfall and take the elevator back, which costs CNY 30 for a single trip and CNY 50 for a round trip. Unfortunately, the Water Curtain Cave was closed when we went there. The waterfall is still very large and impressive. It took about an hour to take all kinds of photos and return. Then take the sightseeing bus to Tianxing Bridge, which takes two hours. It is a natural oxygen bar with various landscapes. There are fruit sellers on the road, and the further you go, the cheaper it is. The Yinzuotan Waterfall is also very beautiful.

To create a happy outdoor environment for the kids, we found a pet-friendly homestay. I have to say, it's a dream homestay. Reasons for recommendation (beautiful environment, family-friendly) There are many animals, free-range, friendly, and they can enter the yard. Alpacas, ponies, donkeys, sika deer, rabbits, goats, cows, black swans... A bag of carrots costs CNY 10, and it's full. The kids had a great time feeding the animals up close. There are red donkey carts and horse-drawn carriages. Guests can ride for free as many times as they want (but I don't recommend riding repeatedly, as it's hard work for the animals. If the homestay could switch to electric carts, it would be more animal-friendly). The rooms are spacious, and each room has a yard, a beautiful forest, a lawn, and roads for cycling. There are so many things for the kids to do, and only guests are allowed, so it's very quiet. At night, there are high-definition outdoor movies (they show cartoons, which the kids love). Pet-friendly, you can bring your own pet. Walking the dog is not much different from visiting a small park. Walk for about 10 minutes along the boardwalk behind the Xiaketing Pavilion at the Duopotang exit. You can visit Duopotang first and then the main waterfall. Buy a one-way ticket for the escalator up to the main waterfall. You can skip the Water Curtain Cave and Tianxing Bridge for a more relaxing tour. The whole tour is about 10,000 steps. Start at around 1 pm and finish before 6 pm. The tour is relaxing and not crowded, and the experience is great.
