Great reception staff. Polite. Professional. Friendly. Helpful.
Wow what a twin room it was. Almost like a suite. Separate area with kettle n coffee/tea facilities.
Very comfortable beds. Cosy duvet. Large bedroom with 2 good sized beds. 2 easy chairs. Tv. Plenty storage space. Drawers. Wardrobe. Ironing board. Iron. Hairdryer. Very quiet floor. No doors banging. Great selection at breakfast. Lots cereals. Fruit. Yoghurt. Fruit juices. Continental selection as well as English fried selection. Bread to toast or fresh bread. Would most definitely stay again.
Great location easy to get to, staff were friendly, only thing for improvement was the restaurant. Staff not attentive enough, and could constantly here the manager giving the staff a hard time, when he did nothing but lean up against the till
The hotel room was very clean, the area was large and the sofa was very comfortable. The price is relatively cheap. The cold part of the breakfast is self-service, the hot part is the spot, and the kitchen is immediately delivered.
On arrival we were greeted with a warm smile .booking in was very simple paid for our pet on arrival . Room was clean and tidy . Plenty of green space on site to walk the dogs .Overall and pleasant stay
I booked a room with breakfast included, but when I arrived, I found out it was a room without breakfast. I had to pay extra for breakfast🥲 I highly recommend booking this hotel without breakfast and paying on site. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was delicious!!
Pros, good breakfast, good gym, plenty of parking.
Cons. Someone had puked in the sink and blocked it which I found out when entering the room, this was resolved, but not cleaned particularly well or disinfected and not offered another room. Rooms are a little old and dated, doors are paper thin, can hear a pin drop in the corridor. Don’t get the room next to the ‘managers office’ , you can hear them all the time clearly
This is such a lovely resort. The estate is simply magnificent and the service was excellent throughout our stay.
The room (especially the toilet) was a little bit dated but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
We got to dine at the main restaurant and the food quality was excellent. Breakfast and lunch were equally impressive with plenty of options for the kids.
As for amenities, we got to use the indoor pool and spa and they were both nice and clean.
The building was surrounded by impressive gardens and golf course so you will always get a good view just looking out of the windows.
The hotel is surrounded by historic market towns which are always worth visiting.
I would definitely come back again as I enjoyed the place so much.
Lady on reception was AMAZING. She was super chatty and even walked me to the room. Room was comfy and good shower. Was a little noisy as the radiator keep filling up with a hissing sound all night but it was more white noise and I slept through it. Very easy to find and to park. Nice bar area. Would stay again

SShun FuRoom was small but clean. Parking fee of £2 was ok when compared with other hotels I. The area which charge between £8-12 per night. Will book again next time as price with reasonable when compared with other hotel and especially the high parking fee.
GGuest UserVery lovely apartment, clean and cosy. Accessing the flat on the first day was like a treasure hunt 😄. Nice location too. Heating can be improved.
GGuest UserAbsolutely stunning hotel. Undersold on its website.
Original Tudor hall with many original features which compare favourably to any that you might see in a National Trust property - especially the two incredible fireplaces. Great views towards central London from the terrace at the back.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Room was large, well furnished, and quiet (as I think would be all the hotel as in large grounds). Shame that pond was drained.
Annex at the back where the bedrooms are not very sympathetic design to the rest of the stunning hotel, and the gym could be better furnished. I think that Laura Ashley was involved in the interior design. Some reviews say that it is a bit down at it heels, but I didn't think so - more of a lived in air which made me feel more at ease. Looks of quirky design features which work well in a sort of 1960s New Avengers way, but I didn't like the fake wood pattern wallpaper in the bar as it cheapens the glorious fireplace next to it. My daughter loved sitting in one of the James Bond super villain blue chairs in the bar - she moaned that she didn't have our cat with her to complete the effect.
We booked this for not much more than the local Premier Inn that I normally stay at - but this is in completely a different league.
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful hotel.
GGuest UserWe (family of 5) stayed in the family room as we had an early flight from Stansted in the morning. We emailed Julie with our arrival time and she had everything prepared for us including an additional camping bed in the room. We were greeted warmly and showed around our and the breakfast room. Julie even went as far to place boy/girl napkins on the table for us which was very sweet. The room itself was lovely - large enough for 5 of us and our luggage. Beds were comfy and we had good hot water and biscuits/hot drinks. The location is perfect for Stansted, it took us less than ten minutes to get to the Mid Stay car park but note that if you're in the Long Stay it's a longer journey. Another advantage is that they will let you park your car on-site for a small fee, and you can then taxi to and from the airport which is only a few minutes (we will definitely do this next time as it's considerably cheaper than the airport car parks). Breakfast was amazing - since we left early we weren't that hungry but they had a huge variety of cereals, bread/crumpets, yoghurts, drinks, cereal bars, cheese, fruit ... the list goes on. Price was also very affordable especially for larger families as we could book a single room vs. having to book two (most places are max. occupancy of four). Many thanks and hope to see you soon!
GGuest UserHad a lovely stay from the moment I checked in, 2 of the reception staff were friendly and welcoming and found me a room with the view that I wanted. Room was cosey , clean and spacious. Also checked out on Monday and went to the bar, the man in the bar ever soo polite and friendly. Only thing that let my experience down was the cleaning staff on Sunday afternoon around 1pm on the 5th floor, when channeling the beds there was alot of noise as the beds were being banged against the walls and doors being slammed. Just a little consideration that not everyone checks out on a Sunday and that there are other guests still trying to rest or relax. But overall check in staff amazing and reception delightful 😊
GGuest UserBe aware that if you book through Trio.com parking is not free, if you book direct with the hotel then it is free which was not made clear at time of booking.. Booking direct was the same price so if i had known i would have booked direct and save myself £5 parking charge for the night.. The two men on reception were also unhelpful and rude and laughed when i explained the situation to them, Location is good but would not go back, hotel is very dated!!
AAnonymous UserEverything was lovely but the staff were not very friendly and we were not informed about the £200 pound deposit we needed to put down or that we would be locked out of our room at 11am
Would definitely stay again, but it would have been nice to have a tiny bit more info and customer service
GGuest UserGood location, easy checkin , basic but very good value clean and tidy. 20 minutes walk to near by town. Parking spent less than 24 hours here . Would use again for stopover .
GGuest UserGreat location for travelling from Stansted airport. Parking was free (book with the hotel directly rather than through a travel agent to secure free parking). Check in and check out was fast and easy. We didn’t use the restaurant but used the bar- prices were reasonable for an airport hotel at a service station. Hotel offers food though we went into the services to eat. Rooms are clean and equipped with tea and coffee facilities.
GGuest UserWe booked through trip . On arrival we were told that the room we booked was not available.
The hotel also insisted on charging me again for the room.
The confirmation showed a room for 3 adults.. the hotel had booked this room out to someone else.
They did eventually give us a second room as I informed the receptionist who was very rude that an adult couldn’t sleep on a z bed for two nights.
We were attending a wedding they were also extremely unhelpful to the bride to be and told her her bridal suite would not be ready until the following day as they’ve booked a photo shoot in it.
I would not recommend this hotel. The carpets are filthy and their customer services is very poor.
