I prefer staying on the higher floors of the hotel, as the facilities there are newer and more comfortable. However, during my recent three-week stay, the waffle maker was broken. I used to enjoy making waffles for breakfast during previous stays, but it was unavailable this time.
I hope the breakfast quality can be maintained at the same level as my stays in September and October 2024, when there were many options available. The variety and quality of the breakfast have always been a bonus and one of the main reasons I choose this hotel.
The location is great - just a few minutes' walk to the city centre - and the breakfast was fine, although it mainly consisted of English breakfast ingredients like eggs and beans; the hairdryer in the room was not working, but I did not inform reception because my stay was short.

My wife requires gluten free food ( which most frequently means no wheat products) and lactose free milk. She has reacted to soya milk in the past and generally opts for oat milk.
At breakfast in the hotel everything was clearly labelled if it contained wheat, but there were few alternatives provided and no alternative to the croissants and muffins. One waitress was very helpful and offered to see if there was any oat milk in the bar. Good idea - we knew there was because my wife had it in her coffee the previous evening. The waitress went and soon returned with a carton of oat milk. She apologized for the carton but we didn’t mind, we were pleased that my wife could enjoy her cereal.
However before she could use it another waiter (the Barman?) came along and demanded its return. My wife offered to return it after her breakfast but, no, it was needed immediately in case there were other customers who wanted it. The problem was solved by my wife pouring some into a cup and giving him the carton. Not the sort of situation we expect from a decent hotel. We were pleased at the imitative of the waitress, and thanked her for it. We were appalled at the crass behavior of the man who demanded its return. All in all it was a very poor breakfast.
Good hotel and location. Having been asked which slot for breakfast, quite a few items were unavailable in that slot and weren't replenished such as bacon and fruit. Staff did offer something else when asked but there wasn't anything else we wanted.

As a first time solo female traveller, I was apprehensive at first. However, I need not to have been. Staff, were amazingly friendly, kind and helpful. At breakfast, I sat alone and a member of staff came over and asked if I was OK, and did I need anything. I just thought it was a lovely personal touch, especially nowadays, where good customer services seems to be a hard ask. This hotel is definitely recommended, and I will definitely be going back next time I am in the city. Keep up the good work!!
Booking a hotel was a little complicated but amendment requests were a disaster. I panicked a lot but there were no restrictions when I stayed at the hotel, everything was smooth.
Lovely stay at your hotel, the only negative was the quality of the warm breakfast items bacon was terrible really badly over cooked or pre cooked along time ago. Not sure what mushrooms was cooked in but a horrible after taste. Eggs also looked like been cooked along time. But all cold items were lovely and staff very good.
All of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly during my stay which added to the experience. The hotel is truly lovely and the setting is beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and the views from the rooms and bar were amazing but it’s the high level of customer service that makes me want to return and recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Wakefield.
Booked for myself and daughter for a visit to Headingley. Hotel about a 20 minute walk to the city centre. Room was nice and adequate for our needs.
Nice breakfast. Would recommend.

The Hotel is very close to the main roads and easy to reach , check In was quick and efficient. Room clean and fresh. Since our last visit here the Changing rooms of the leisure have been upgraded and all the leisure centre a pleasure to use once again. The Restaurant and Bar area has been refreshed too with accompanying Good level of customer service. The City centre is a comfortable 20min walk passing by a number of attractive bars and restaurants, we had a nice Thai meal at Zapps.
On the downside, for the second time our room fridge was defective, I'd be checking 1st next visit. The cooked breakfast was very complete but not very hot, the choice of cold choices was comprehensive.
One Great advantage of staying at the Plaza is its even easier on the way out to access the M621 and Motorways and not have to negotiate the Ring road network.
It's always our 1st Choice when we go to Leeds.

SSaierbahetangwanLeonardo is a well-known chain in the UK and Europe, so you generally can't go too wrong with their hotels. However, this particular Leo in Leeds feels a bit less impressive than the ones in Glasgow Royal or Manchester Central. It's probably on par with the Heathrow branch, in terms of indoor facilities. There's a Sainsbury's supermarket right behind the hotel, open until 11 PM, which is super convenient for grabbing snacks. It's a 10-minute walk from Leeds Station, and also not far from Leeds Corn Exchange, Leeds Art Gallery, and Leeds Armouries Museum (which I highly recommend for its weapons and ancient warfare exhibits). You can also take a bus to the University of Leeds (it doesn't have walls but boasts a large campus) and Hyde Park next to it. 🏃🏃♂️🏃♀️
GGuest UserExcellent hotel and really good to get to the centre .
From checking in early to checking out, everything was superb ! The staff af reception were among the friendliest we have come across.
The room was very clean and a really comfy bed made for an excellent night's sleep.
Breakfast was amazing, and as soon as anything ran out, it was replenished straight away. Choices were really good and excellent quality too
Definitely recommend this hotel, and we'll definitely be back.
DDaviedaiVery cost-effective, good location, very close to Leeds station. Parking is inconvenient, the hotel parking spaces are limited and cost more than 20 pounds, there are almost no parking spaces nearby, and the price is similar. But the room is relatively large, the bedding is very comfortable, the hygiene is very clean, and the free water brand is also good.
GGuest UserWe got put in a very small double bedroom (standard double) but there was barely any room to move about, even the bathroom was tiny. I went and spoke to the manager who was lovely and upgraded us to the executive suite (honeymoon) no extra charge as it was my partners birthday. Absolutely amazing !!
LLauraGreat location for the airport. You need a taxi to get there, but the hotel offers parking so you can leave your car, which makes it very convenient
NNeil CookeNic, clean and comfortable hotel. Ideally situated on the M1 but without the traffic noise. Restaurant a bit limited but there’s more eating places in the services. Bar is a bit pricey, but the staff are fantastic and a credit to the company
GGuest UserMidland hotel is a little piece of history in Bradford. Central location, welcoming opulent entrance and reception areas.Vintage Tiles, chandeliers , wrought iron staircases, high ceilings. It has been refurbished- some rooms are yet to undergo the transformation. . Our room had been refurbished- black tiled bathroom , a forceful shower and deep bath. Fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and as it was an executive room - robe and slippers.
Bradford is going through some gentrification - some dowdy areas and yet there are areas of inspiration such as the central square set amongst lovely historic buildings . The tunnels- and pubs/ eateries within are magical( see pic attached, truly ‘ a world of imagination ‘) The Alhambra Theatre - art deco.
SS.Y.@JFantastic! A cozy, comfortable, and clean hotel. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was spacious and bright, complete with slippers, bathrobes, complimentary bottled water, and cookies, as well as a kettle and a coffee machine. Honestly, this has been the best value-for-money hotel I've stayed at so far on my trip to the UK.
