The room was a bit small, but very clean. The breakfast had a great variety. Most importantly, the location was super convenient, right across from Kyoto Station. It seems to be a very popular hotel, as there were frequent queues for breakfast.

The hotel is new with great facilities! It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit (Kyoto Station has two exits: Central and Hachijo). The location is excellent, quiet yet central! The room is spacious at 16 square meters, easily accommodating two large suitcases, and there's even a table with two chairs inside so you can eat in the room, which is fantastic! It's also very convenient for those joining day trips around Kyoto, as the tour bus meeting point is right opposite the Hachijo Exit.
I used this hotel for a business trip. I had booked it expecting a regular business hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a good place to stay. I appreciated the various amenities provided, such as bath salts and a hairdryer.

The room was very clean, and they provided two bottles of water every day. The staff were all very polite. Breakfast offered both Japanese and Western options. The only downside was having to queue for breakfast a few times, which I'd never experienced before. The location is very convenient, close to the train station.
The hotel is 13 min walk from Miyazu station. It is walkable but might be difficult with luggage. There are restaurants and supermarkets nearby so it’s pretty convenient. We tried to get to amanohashidate station by bus but it only comes once and hour, so the hotel staff fetched a taxi for us. Very good service. Free coffee and tea even though you don’t get their breakfast. Although the shower room is glass-door, they have a partition for privacy

This was the best hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to Japan.
The location was absolutely central to everything, and amenities were all close at hand. Close to Kyoto station meant that even when you were out all you had to do was finding a train or bus coming back to the station.
From the first view of the hotel inside we knew we were going to enjoy our stay.
The room blew us away when we opened the door, it was well laid out.
The service and food were exceptional, absolutely loved the ”Meat Theatre” this was an all you can eat and well worth the money. The staff were truly helpful at all times.
Exceptionally good value loved it and would recommend it to everyone we know that are going to Kyoto.
As a solo traveller I was surprised it is actually a love hotel which I did not pay attention when booking. It does not matter though. Very good condition and big space. Good breakfast included. It is also very nice having a massage chair.
It is over 1km from train station which is slightly inconvenient from people with large luggage.
I did see a 1cm long bug on my pillow on the second day but I would think it is accidental considering the general cleanness is significantly better than most other hotels I stayed.

This hotel is very conveniently located—just a five-minute walk from Kyoto Station. Despite the rooms being small, the bathroom is surprisingly spacious in comparison. The hotel itself is nice and clean. A nice bonus is the free gym. There’s also a 7-Eleven right next door, with a shared entrance on the ground floor. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, doing their best to answer any questions. One thing to note: since the hotel is next to the train station, you may want to request a quiet room—though be aware that the view from those rooms might face the interior fire exit.
Also good that they provide pyjamas😊
The room is big and it has all the amenities eg. TV, Big bed, jacuzzi, well equipped toilet, etc. All the toiletries are beyond our needs. Movies are free and breakfast are really cheap. The only drawback is the nearest metro station is 1 km away. But the room is value for money. Highly recommended.

Facilities: My only complaint is that the king-size bed in the king room is made of two single mattresses pushed together, and after sleeping on it for a while, a gap forms between them.
Hygiene: The hygiene is excellent.
Environment: The surrounding area is very quiet, and there are convenience stores not too far away.
Service: The service attitude is great, and the hotel even offers free shuttle service to Kyoto Station.

GGuest UserEverything was superb with the one exception, for an onsen hotel that have one of the selling point, in room onsen bath, the water was just regular hot water, why would I need to stay at an onsen hotel with in room onsen bath if any bathtub with hot water would do? Trip.com site did not specify that it wasn’t hot spring water. But luckily there was a better room with actual hot spring water supplied to the room available for upgrade, so I spent the extra to make my stay absolutely perfectly memorable.
Yyoyo0218The room's design is very well-thought-out; you take off your shoes before entering, and it's clean and tidy. There's an openable window, so it doesn't feel cramped like a typical business hotel. The breakfast is quite impressive, even for a high-end Japanese hotel. The popular tempura bar is great when it's fresh out of the fryer, and the menu changes daily.
The lounge (pictured in photo 5) is a comfortable place to wait for the shuttle, offering coffee and tea. From 4 PM to 6 PM, alcoholic beverages are available. Enjoying a dark beer while looking out at the view from the window is a truly pleasant experience.
I even managed to get one good shot of autumn leaves 🍁 on this trip!
AAnonymous UserHotel was in an ideal location and convenient to walk from Kujo station (which is less crowded than Kyoto Station) and beside a convenience store. Staff who checked in us was patient and kindly explained the calculation for the kyoto accommodation tax. We opted for no daily cleaning service which gave us a discount, instead new towels were hanged outside our door each day. The dining area was alright and we were able to find seats at the timing we went though it might be more crowded at certain times. Breakfast buffet had a good spread and the dinner menu was alright. The rooms I got were away from the road so it was quiet and since it was spring time, it didn't feel too hot/cold. The aircon in the room can be set to heater mode. The roads leading to the hotel are relatively quiet with fewer shops.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is fantastic! The design is also very modern and forward-thinking. The front desk and concierge staff were all incredibly enthusiastic and always attentive to whether we needed any assistance. It was a very satisfying stay. We stayed in Japan for 7 nights and switched between 3 hotels, and this was by far the most satisfying five-star hotel experience!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is unbeatable, super convenient, and the service is excellent. Especially impressive was that they let me check in at 1 PM, even though most Japanese hotels only allow check-ins after 3 PM. That was great! As for facilities, they're definitely not the newest since it's not a recently renovated property. The soundproofing is a bit poor though; I could clearly hear the Japanese guests next door talking, which was a bit disruptive. Also, I think the breakfast could be more varied. Other than that, I have no complaints. The price was reasonable, and the pool was also very good. If I go to Kyoto again, I think this will be my top choice.

WwshooiWe had a pleasant stay at Kyoto Umekoji Kadensho, mainly thanks to its excellent location—right next to the train station and just one stop from Kyoto Station, making it very convenient for getting around.
The room was spacious and well-designed, especially with the separated shower and toilet areas, which made it more comfortable for multiple occupants. A highlight of the stay was the private baths. Although one of the five baths was out of order, the system worked efficiently—even at full occupancy, we never had to wait long for one to become available.
The little touches after a bath were a nice surprise—we really enjoyed the complimentary ice cream and Vitagen.
That said, there are a few areas that could be improved. The hotel relies heavily on disposable wares, which felt excessive. Drinks in the lounge were served in disposable cups, and even the complimentary ramen supper came in disposable containers. On top of that, seating for the supper was quite limited, so many guests ended up taking their food back to their rooms.
Overall, a comfortable and convenient stay with great amenities, but the sustainability aspect could definitely be improved.

IIRADAThough the hotel itself is good (I’m staying here for a second time), this time the service was awful.1) went to breakfast, me and my friend ordered 2 dishes, when in 20 mins time there still was nothing, we reminded a waitress of our order… another 20 mins - still nothing. All in all we spent 40 mins at the breakfast restaurant and didn’t get our food. When we explained this to the hostess she just said “sorry” and we left the restaurant hungry. 2) ordered afternoon tea for 3 persons (afternoon tea is served at another restaurant at the hotel). 2 normal sets and 1 for a person who doesn’t like dairy products. That person is me. I explained that I have no allergy, I just don’t like the taste of milk, cheese, et cetera. So I’m fine with bread and with sweets, just not the ones that have cheese on top. In the end instead of the sweets they brought me a fruit platter (that’s all, my friends got a lot of different sweets), when I again explained to the hostess that I’m fine with sweets (sweet bread) and would like to eat the sweets included in the afternoon tea set she just said that they “prepared smth else” for me (she meant the fruit platter). No apology no anything. Mind you, I ordered afternoon tea last year at this same place - everything was alright! As this is a 5 star hotel and everything here is rather expensive (including breakfast and afternoon tea) this is unacceptable level if service.

AA Pig Fly From the SeaThe breakfast was very delicious and had a wide variety of choices. Everything tasted great and I never got bored of it even after a few days. The onsen was also very comfortable and relaxing — it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. I also really liked the shampoo and bath amenities provided by the hotel; they smelled amazing and made my hair feel very smooth.
Another nice touch was that the hotel provided free laundry washing, although the dryer required a small fee. They also offered free ramen at night, which was a really nice service, but I was too full to try it at the time. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again!
