The hotel was very nice and clean. However, I have to warn everyone, with tears in my eyes, to avoid the ramen shop across the street called 'Komugi Seido' (小麦生道). It was incredibly bad, like instant noodles soaked in dishwater, and super salty with tiny portions. Plus, the owner was openly discriminatory towards Chinese people.
During the cherry blossom season, it was very busy. The Western breakfast had a long queue, but the Japanese breakfast had virtually no wait. It's a shame there was no curry (though the Western restaurant had it) – a strange setup! Honestly, everything else was great. It's right next to Shinsaibashi, separated by just one street, so shopping was super convenient. The airport shuttle bus made getting to and from the airport really easy. A special thanks to the baggage staff, especially a girl from Northeast China (I forgot to ask her name), who helped us carry our luggage up and down floors and get a taxi after we checked out. That service was truly exceptional.

Smile Hotel Shinsaibashi in Osaka truly exceeded my expectations, offering a five-star experience. The location is superb, right next to the bustling Shinsaibashi shopping district. Everything from shopping and dining to attractions is within easy reach, yet the hotel itself is a tranquil oasis, providing a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The cleanliness was impeccable; every corner of the room was spotless, the bedding pristine, and the bathroom gleamed. The air was fresh and pleasant. While the facilities aren't luxurious, they are complete and practical. The comfortable mattress ensured a good night's sleep, and thoughtful amenities like air conditioning and an air purifier were much appreciated. The staff were a true highlight – everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping team was warm and friendly, always greeting guests with a smile, patiently answering questions, and even hand-drawing maps to help with directions, which made me feel incredibly welcome. In summary, with its convenient location, pristine environment, excellent facilities, and attentive service, this is an outstanding choice for anyone visiting Osaka. My only regret is that this was just a stopover for me, and I only stayed for one day before heading to Kyoto. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Osaka.

The best decision I made on this Osaka trip was staying at this hotel run by a Chinese owner! The owner's warmth truly added so much comfort to our international travels, completely eliminating any feeling of unfamiliarity or communication barriers.
The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. It's just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for shopping in Shinsaibashi and Namba. There are plenty of convenience stores and eateries nearby, so finding food and getting around is effortless. The room was quite spacious for a Japanese hotel, clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The bathroom, with its separate wet and dry areas, was very comfortable to use, and we could even fully open our suitcases, making our stay very relaxed.
What touched me most was the owner's thoughtfulness. Before we even checked in, they provided detailed directions from the airport to the hotel, explaining every transfer clearly. During our stay, whether we asked about sightseeing tips or transportation, they patiently answered all our questions and even shared hidden local food gems that only locals would know. We checked out when we needed to leave.

Great location and in Osaka. Our room was on the larger side for Japanese hotel rooms so that was an added bonus. The bathtub had a large window with a great view of the city! The option to do laundry while traveling with a toddler was a lifeline! Certainly would recommend to families traveling with small children.

I've stayed at the New Otani in Hakata before, and this time I chose the one in Osaka. Both are equally luxurious and grand, but I found the room's cleanliness in Osaka to be a bit lacking compared to Hakata – there were some stains behind the closet door. The location is super convenient, close to both JR and Keihan train stations. The room was spacious enough, with two bathrooms, which was incredibly handy for a family trip. When we checked out, we made a last-minute decision to take the shuttle bus to the airport. We only had five minutes before it departed, but the front desk immediately called the shuttle service, printed our tickets, and had a bellboy whisk our luggage over. We made it onto the bus smoothly, and I'm very grateful for their quick assistance. The surrounding area is also very convenient; we took a leisurely stroll to Osaka Castle. We even stumbled upon an XG concert tour, with the venue, Osaka-Jo Hall, right across from the hotel! We snagged tickets for 400 yen and enjoyed a high-quality concert. So happy! 🥳
Very good hotel. I was there 6 days. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The room looks very good. The bed is super comfortable. The location is ideal if you want to make one or multiple daytrips to Kyoto: It's close to the shinkansen station, so you can be in Kyoto in a half hour from the hotel (if you buy the trainticket in advance). It's also close to the metro that brings you to Dotonbory in 10 mins. The service was great: they will send your luggage to your next hotel if you ask them, so I didnt need to drag around my big suitcase from Osaka to Tokyo. Thank you for a nice and very comfortable stay!
The location is incredibly convenient, tucked away in an alley right opposite Daimaru. It's super easy to get anywhere for shopping, and the subway station is really close. The hotel room isn't too small, and neither is the bed. Best of all, the price is really good! Plus, there's a duty-free 7-Eleven right across the street!
Can put luggage in advance if come earlier. Do inform the hotel as well. Near train station nishinakajima - minamigata ( kitaosakakyuko line ) . There at least 3 family mart nearby and one lawson. Can walk to shin osaka jr line as well. Hotel was decent. Space is small normal japan hotel size.
Very nice hotel close to KIX and JR station, with walking distance (less than 10 minutes) to Rinku Premium Outlet where many brand name shops offer, together with good restaurants. Nice sea view with airplanes landing on KIX. Front staffs are polite, helpful and communicate in Eny. The price is also reasonable. Very convenient to catch your early morning flight, as the hotel offers free shuttle bus service (less than 15 minutes) to Terminal 1 KIX.

Very Good
HHeiressjloThe room itself is well maintained and the facilities are common basic ones that I need as a solo female traveler. It a 5 minute walk to Juso Station and a lot of convenience store around. They have a coin laundry machine as well so it was easier to wash clothes when I needed it. All additional things that you need such as toiletries are also readily available at the lobby area. And the best part was the free breakfast!
EE6734****The hotel is right by the subway, but we ended up taking a long detour following our navigation. The back entrance is really close to the park's main gate, which was super convenient and comfortable for walking back to the hotel when the park closed around 9 PM.
However, check-in at the hotel was quite slow, and they didn't provide any power adapters. Breakfast seating was limited, so we had to queue up and wait a long time to get in. Eating outside in the cold wasn't ideal, but at least we could hear the screams from the roller coasters (ಥ⌣ಥ).
There's a commercial street nearby that also sells Universal merchandise, which was great for picking up last-minute souvenirs before we left.
Overall, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again next time and have already recommended it to friends. The convenience for families with kids is the most important factor.
__WeChat263706****Absolutely loved it! It's super close to Universal Studios, and the route there is very convenient. It's also near the subway station and right next to the aquarium pier ⛵️, couldn't be more convenient. The convenience stores on both sides are also great.
SSollee- Spa was good, breakfast was good.
- Location was good; we could go shopping or eating outside easily. The area across the station felt a bit unsafe, and there were some homeless people around.
- Very clean floors in the entire building since everyone had to take off shoes at the lobby.
- After check-out, the hotel allows guests to store their luggage if guests stay on the premises to enjoy the spa. However, if guests leave the hotel after checkout and then return later, the hotel does not offer luggage storage. In that case, you have to use the coin lockers in front of the hotel. It was a bit inconvenient because I had to exchange money again to use the locker. That was the only inconvenience.

GGuest UserWonderful experience at OMO.
It is very close to subway station, with convenient store right at the 2/F of hotel. Room is new and clean. Hot bath and sauna available for relaxation (Not hot spring). There is free snacks and drink at top floor of hotel where you can enjoy night view and the unique ”above the clouds” experience. My kids are very happy with the cotton candy.
The self service luggage storage is convenient and easy to use. Very thoughtful to have scale for weighing luggage.
CChocoAlisonThe location is very convenient, with JR lines directly to the airport and Expo, Osaka Loop Line and Midosuji Line directly to the city center. There is a large 7-11 and a Café de Cabrera downstairs. A five-minute walk will take you to a super large Life supermarket, which sells sashimi, bento, and cooked food. For breakfast, there are a variety of packaged breads, rice balls, drinks and soups, as well as yogurt pudding and yogurt, but you have to go early, as there will be no choice after 8:30. You can take your breakfast back to your room and eat it without taking it out of the hotel. Free umbrellas are provided when it rains. There is no bottled water in the room, only a kettle. Ice can be picked up on the 8th floor. There is coffee and tea bags available for pick-up in the lobby. The hotel only provides shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, and skin care product samples need to be purchased for 500 yen. The hygiene is very good. The auntie cleans the room very carefully. She will put everything away and put it back in place, and help fold clothes. There is only one chair in the 4-person room, it would be better if there were one or two more chairs. After 10pm, you need to swipe your room card to enter the hotel, which is quite safe.
GGuest UserWow, this is my first time staying in such a spacious room!
**Environment:** It's right by Exit 5 of Rinku Town Station, and there's a 24-hour supermarket next door. Getting to the outlets is super convenient too.
**Facilities:** They offer free luggage storage, and when you check in, they'll ask if you need the airport shuttle, which is also free.
**Service:** The front desk provides various toiletries.
There's a Family Mart convenience store on the second floor of the hotel, so you don't even need to go outside.

GGuest UserThis is my third time staying at this hotel. The first time was 10 years ago, so naturally, the hotel is quite old. With a constant stream of tourists, the facilities aren't new either. However, Japanese hotels generally maintain their properties quite well. While I've seen some reviews complaining about minor details, I personally haven't encountered any issues, which is why I keep coming back here. The location, well, it's unbeatable – right outside Universal Studios Japan (USJ). Eating breakfast outside the hotel is perfectly fine too, as there's a Lawson convenience store right next door with everything you could need (for value breakfast, Lawson is the way to go). Every time we visit, my child always wants strawberry popcorn. There's a shop selling it on the right-hand side of the path leading from the hotel to USJ. There are souvenir shops all along the way, so you can buy things after you leave the park. The last shop before exiting the park has the most comprehensive selection. We didn't buy express passes. We arrived at 3 PM and bought evening passes, but we didn't get enough playtime, so we bought full-day passes the next day. It was still quite crowded, and there were queues as expected, but nothing like 90-minute waits. It was all within an acceptable range. So, yeah, that's about it.
