Hotels With parking in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan

For just over 1000 yen, getting a one-night stay with two meals for two people, plus a sea view, is incredible value! The dinner buffet, while not huge, had excellent quality ingredients. We feasted on delicious salmon and tuna. The room was spacious. Sure, there were a few minor imperfections in some corners, but for this price, I can't complain. The only real issue was that the hotel only offers free luggage storage until 3 PM. They didn't mention this when we dropped off our bags. Halfway through our Kumano Kodo hike, a friend behind me delivered the bad news. I ended up having to carry six people's luggage to our next accommodation all by myself. It was quite a heartbreaking experience.

The staff at the accommodation were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The English-speaking staff guided us around the facilities and thoroughly explained the rules. Despite the curfew at 9 PM, we were allowed to return later using an alternate door. Dinner was superb and delicious, with a variety of vegan dishes offered. It's a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.

The hotel's environment is fantastic, and the entrance garden landscape is absolutely beautiful. The seaside corridor is also stunning, and there's a dedicated hot spring area for foot soaks. The public outdoor hot spring views are also great. The only downside of my trip was the room I booked, which was supposed to have an indoor hot tub, but it turned out to be just a regular bathtub. Although the staff explained that the water was indeed from a hot spring, it still felt disappointing, so I didn't use it. I contacted Ctrip customer service about it, and their handling of the issue was very satisfactory. However, the public bath was a delightful surprise; both the environment and the soaking experience were incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend the dinner buffet. Even though it's a buffet, the ingredients are fresh, and the variety is extensive. You can even grill your own food. The tempura was exceptionally delicious, and they had Haagen-Dazs ice cream! Breakfast, however, wasn't as lavish and was quite simple. Overall, I'd say I'm satisfied.

Extremely satisfied with this hotel! We stayed for two nights with breakfast and dinner included, so we got to try a good variety of dishes. The atmosphere is very Japanese and elegant. The hotel service was exceptionally good, and the environment was very clean. The path to the onsen was a bit scenic and made for some great photos. They even have colorful yukatas you can choose from!

Out of all the hotels we stayed at during our Kii Peninsula trip, the Kameyama Hotel in Kii-Katsuura was the most expensive. There aren't many hotel options in Kii-Katsuura, and this one was still considered relatively good value for money. We booked a twin room with an ocean view (not a tatami room). The room itself was very spacious and had a nice view. However, it's true that the hotel is a bit dated, and some of the room furniture was quite old. Despite that, the cleanliness was good; the room interior was spotless, although the balcony seemed not to have been cleaned thoroughly. I didn't quite understand the openwork design of the bedding; it felt a bit unhygienic with the duvet insert seemingly exposed. Check-in was quick, and the staff spoke fluent English, which made the process very smooth. The hotel breakfast was also excellent. It was a set meal, reservation-based, and all seats faced the ocean. From the hotel, it's about a 10-minute walk to the Torii gate, a 5-minute walk to a FamilyMart convenience store, and a 10-minute walk to the station, which is quite convenient. There's also a free water bar on the first floor, offering coffee and other beverages, which was a nice touch.

We stayed in this lovely family hotel for a night, we opted for room stay with dinner and breakfast. There's no shops or restaurant near by, so highly suggest to choose the stay with meals option, otherwise there's cooking facility within the room also, so I think it's possible to cook your own meal if necessary. Location - the hotel is just round the corner of the famous Shirasaki Ocean Park, we even had a good view of the park from our room. There's parking space right in front of the hotel building, so it's very handy. We cycled to the Shirasaki Ocean Park then to the hotel, so it worked out perfect. There's a very steep slop going up to the hotel though, but it wasn't an issue for us as we pushed out bikes up. Facilities - this is a family run hotel which believes was built a while ago, so can't compare it to all those new built hotels. The ”room” we stayed is more like a mini flat, it has a big kitchen, good sized bathroom with changing area, a separate toilet, a living room, bedroom and an extra ”sitting” area. The entire flat is in traditional Japanese style which we loved, and it has all facilities that made our stay comfortable. It also has coined washing machine and driers. We could even access to rooftop on the 4th floor to view the sunset. If you're looking for a quiet place to have quality time, then this is a good place to do so. There's also ”public bath” within the hotel, it's small but wasn't an issue for us. There's also shower and bath in the room also if you want some privacy. Food - all food was cooked and prepared by the hotel owner, and she's a talented chef! Dinner was impressive, breakfast was standard. The hotel owner is very friendly and lovely, it's definitely ”the place” to stay if you're visiting the area. We highly recommend it.

Highly recommended. Good private location, superb service, big indoor and outdoor onsen, superb view and exceptional service. I stayed during end of Nov. 24. The hotel is value for money indeed. The room is definitely not 17m as it s indicated. It s very spacious with great private sea bay view. I stayed during end here one night and stayed at KAMENOI hotel another night. I truly prefer warmth atmosphere here. The outdoor onsen here is certainly better as well! If I go to Katsuura again, I will definitely stay here.

Nice view nice place, keep you relax staying in the hotel, free parking right beside the hotel, new experience of dinner with great cheese, and a set of breakfast with unlimited coffee give you refresh in morning. But beware of their dinner time at 5:30 and breakfast time in 7:30 that may different than expected.

The hotel is situated at a secluded corner of Wakayama prefecture. It is much preferable to drive here rather than relying on the infrequent hotel shuttle. Public transport is otherwise non existent. There are no restaurants around the hotel. However the hotel provides delicious meals with abundant fresh seafood. The in room dining experience is superb. The hotel staff service is impeccable. The room has a spectacular sea view allowing you to see the sunset on clear days. The onsen also faces the sea which provides a relaxing experience. A downside is that the hotel does not seem to sanitize the slippers for indoor use. All hotel guests had to change to their slippers to access their indoor facilities.

You need to stay at Shojoshin-in if you come to Koyasan! There's an English speaking receptionist when you check in, a Chinese monk and you can always use google translate to communicate with the Japanese-only staff/monks! There's goma prayers at 1pm, a tour of the temple only for lodgers at 4pm, dinner served at 530pm (& the food is super flavourful), you can do sutra copying in your room (pay at reception) and pay for a handwritten goshuin as well! Shojoshin-in is the closest temple to Okunoin's entrance so its super convenient to do a night tour (run by an external vendor). Main doors close at 5pm but you can enter through the side door. I met a Japanese lady whom stays only at Shojoshin-in when she comes to Koyasan every year! I miss this place already :(
