affordable price including breakfast if you are travelling with big families (>6 adults). the staffs did their best to accommodate with our request (buggy service, extra bed/pillow/blanket, breakfast options not bad). not much of expectation considering the price

Close to Penang Airport with convenient transportation. The room was clean, the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. I always stay at this hotel when I travel to Penang for business. The hotel environment is great, and I'll definitely stay here again next time.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights was the beautiful view, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Parking was very convenient and easily accessible for customers, which is a big plus. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and professional, always ready to assist with any questions. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

Resort World may be old but it offers scenic water front that most hotels can't offer. Though there is no sandy beach for strolling or swimming, it offers a very nice water front facing infinity pool that gives you a great swimming experience. Loved the reclining beach chairs in the infinity pool! Those sea facing rooms get to open their balcony doors or sit by the balcony to enjoy the strong sea breeze! There's fish feeding every evening which is a highlight of my stay. The fishes seem to know their dinner time! There's another swimming pool for kids and adults which offers warm water if the weather is sunny....love it like soaking in a warm tub. The reception service was really excellent! Was attended by Miss Ting who personally went to great lengths to ensure my room requirements are met as we have senior citizens with us. The breakfast spread was yummylicious! Unfortunately a few of my guests had diarrhoea after the final day breakfast...still clueless to the cause. This resort also has a Northern Indian cuisine restaurant, a bar, game room that offers darts, snooker, ping pong, and foosball/table football, small playground slides for children, bicycles for rent (RM10 per hour),various boat tour packages and it is the place where cruise ships dock for passengers to do land tours. We managed to see one on our last morning, there! Oh, we also get to watch the tour boats depart and return as the hotel is facing the jetty hub that runs this activity. Collectively, we all agree we will come back to this hotel in the future even if there are other new or beach front hotels there. The room price is reasonable especially if one book early, online. Highly recommended resort if you prefer a quiet, peaceful yet pleasant stay. It's very near (a few kilometres away) to Tengah Beach and the loud, noisy, crowded, happening Cenang Beach. Rent a car so that you can move around easily especially if the group is big or has young children or senior citizens. Very happy with our stay there. Highly recommend! Nevermind the old facade, the environment and experience beats it all!

This is a great hotel located in the heart of Alor Setar. It feels like stepping into a palace. The price and service are excellent. Hotel has a very good location close to the zahir mosque. Staff was very helpfull, helped us booking the ferry to langkawi, cause international visa card was not working with the local app. Breakfast was acceptable. The facilities were very old, felt like 80s or 90s, especially the bathroom, we think the room rate was overpriced for the condition the hotel is in

AAbbygel1514I stayed at this hotel in Langkawi during my trip with my husband, and the place was truly stunning. From the moment we arrived, everything felt so peaceful and beautiful. I stayed there only for a night including with breakfast. The room was very nice, the bed was extremely comfortable, and I honestly regretted that we only stayed for one night. Waking up to such a breathtaking view was an experience on its own—the scenery around the hotel was absolutely amazing. One of my favourite parts of the resort was the beautiful swimming pool located right in the middle. It added so much charm to the place and made the whole environment feel even more relaxing and luxurious. Sitting by the pool and taking in the surroundings felt like a dream. I would say this was my favourite stay on my whole vacation there. That said, the journey to the resort was a bit challenging. The road leading up was quite confusing and honestly a little scary, as the resort is located at the top of a hill. Driving up from the bottom felt intense, and the pathway could definitely be improved. But once we reached the resort and stepped inside, it felt like entering heaven. The atmosphere, the view, and the comfort completely made up for the drive. Despite the challenging road, the experience was totally worth it. I truly fell in love with the place, and next time I visit Langkawi, I’ll definitely make sure to stay there longer.

CCurlygirl_travelsThis resort is big and beautiful, immersed in nature and their service is excellent. ( please forgive me if I have butchered the names or spelled them wrong) Faraaz was welcoming and informative upon check in, I came in early to check in and he made sure to find me so that I can check in my room a little before 3 pm. The surroundings are lovely, the resort hugs the mountains and is surrounded by lush green. There’s many activities that you can do within the resort, as well as the skybridge and oriental village a stone throw away ( you can get a one way shuttle courtesy of resort. The room itself was old but the housekeeping staff does an excellent job because it was clean, there’s no sewer smells and the bed is cosy. The only issue I have is that of the gaps which lets geckos in, a huge one made it’s home in the bathroom, thumbs up to front desk service which is open and the security came late at night to help find it but it had hidden. The next day I saw one come through the gap in the door, ( there is a brush at the bottom but doesn’t fit until the end) I clapped my hands wildly to chase it back out. Perhaps provide a door draft stopper, I just used the towels to fill in gaps as a makeshift one. However I know it is a resort surrounded by nature and these creatures will find a way. Breakfast was excellent, I have to says the breakfast staff is the hardest working team I have ever seen in all my travels. Not only do they have to greet and seat, but they also accommodate late breakfast comers who come after the allotted breakfast time and wait until they finish a lazy breakfast. The food here is delicious. It was a lovely stay. Ps. Don’t forget to make a reservation in advance for Phan Thai, I recommend at 6:30, it’s not busy yet and you can take pics and enjoy the beautiful sky dimming into glorious colors. It starts to get really busy at around 7:40 ( it’s still bright out) .

SshaheeraxoI took the studio suite villa where I thought I could enjoy sea view but the 'sea' is not really a sea anymore it has kind of dried up and just looks like a muddy area. The period that I went, some of the wooden villa area were having renovations. It's not noisy whatsoever but it could get really quiet especially when coming home at night because it almost felt like no one else was residing at the area. Most people stayed at the other part of the resort. I later found out from a grab driver that the wooden area was Langkawi Lagoon bought over by Ombak Villa. So will not recommend for solo travellers. They only had 2 buggy so you have to wait for a quite. a bit. Breakfast was meh with not much choices. You can do without it and have breakfast else where in LGK. The room was great, spacious and I had a good night sleep. Room still uses key lock and not those card kinds.

LliudmilabWe had a 4-night stay at this hotel and I honestly can't tell that it was a vacation of my dream. What was good: 1. Location. The hotel is just 20 min walk from the night market and 10-15 min walk from duty free shops. Also, so many nice restaurants and cafes nearby. 2. Beach. Only 3 minutes walk from the main door. Smooth sandy entry to the water, the hotels' own ”sunbeds” and fresh towels. I especially would like to thank the watersports team (they are also beach staff) for the exceptional treatment. 3. Breakfast. An extremely wide choice of western and asian food. No one will leave the breakfast hungry. 4. SPA. Brilliant, just perfect! Unfortunately, I don't remember the therapist's name but trust me, she is a truly magician. 5. The whole hotel territory seems new and cool. Main entrance was nicely decorated for Chinese New Year. Unfortunately, there are no positive moments anymore. 1. Our room (#926, Junior Suite) was awfully dirty! I attach photos of everything we could notice, but we haven't explored all the possible dirty areas. We booked the room with a sea view but it was completely ruined with dirty windows (they were dirty from the outside). Moreover, our sofa, bedsheets, towels and even curtains were covered with disgusting yellow / brown stains as well. I don't even want to imagine WHAT could leave stains like that. Floor was stained with some brownish drops which I guess, could be blood. The housekeeping staff tried to remove them but couldn't. 2. The front office staff was slow and didn't give any f of what is going on all the time. I lost my shorts (it is my fault, the shorts were blown out with the wind from the balcony) but no one would like to help me for real except the concierge and front office supervisor who tried their best to find my shorts. Seems like that the front office staff don't even talk to each other as all of them always had completely different information. Also, we had the slowest check-out ever. We were short on time as we had to head to the airport, however the staff acted like we have all the time of the world. 3. The pool bar's food was not good at all plus the bar's staff was just as front office's. Slow and unresponsive. 4. There was only one person who does the cleaning per floor which is a wild fact for me. Cleaning was extremely slow and low-qualified just because of this. Plus, we spent our last two days with only one towel per person. Probably we didn't deserve the second one or something. Our room also had a water boiling system, but NO ONE told us about it while check-in. I had to take a barely warm shower at first. However, I would like to thank security and doormen service staff who were always so nice to us and Japanese restaurant staff and manager who actively helped to find my gone-with-the-wind shorts. I would not recommend this hotel to stay at before the management would train the front office, bar and housekeeping staff well and deep clean the rooms. The only thing I can tell was 100% great is SPA. So, I guess, you can make an appointment as an outside guest

AAnonymous UserThe location of this hotel is outstanding. It is right at the end of the beach, giving the feeling that the entire stretch of sand belongs to you. It is quiet, and ideal for relaxing, especially for families. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although the prices are on the expensive side for what is offered overall. Unfortunately, the hotel’s biggest weakness is its organisation and internal communication. Apparently different departments do not communicate well with one another. During check-in, there was a long queue at the reception despite five staff members being present, yet only two were actually assisting guests. As a result, we waited far longer than necessary. Only after I told them that they need to help each other out, did they start accelerating the check-in process. A more serious issue occurred on our third day when the safe box in our room ran out of battery. I informed reception and was told someone would come shortly. After waiting 30 minutes, I called again, then waited another 15 minutes, and finally had to go to reception for the third time. In total, nearly two hours of our holiday were wasted waiting for a simple battery replacement. The restaurant, however, was a clear exception. Mr Azizi deserves special mention for his professionalism and attentiveness. From the first day until the end of our stay, he regularly checked on us and genuinely tried to help. When I mentioned the safe box issue to him, he was the one who finally stepped in and made things happen. Thanks to his supervision, the restaurant ran smoothly and efficiently. BTW, it’s worth mentioning that breakfast is amazing, with a variety of delicacies. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the beach bar. Orders were frequently forgotten, even after payment. Waiting 30–40 minutes for drinks and then being told they were simply forgotten was frustrating and disappointing. Another sign of poor coordination was the bracelet policy. For the first two days, no one mentioned that guests were supposed to wear bracelets. From the third day onwards, security staff on the beach began checking and questioning us daily, which again points to a lack of communication at reception. The room itself was decent. Due to the humid climate, there was a slight smell, which is quite common in this region and something we also experienced in Thailand, so this was not a major issue. Overall, I can recommend this hotel for its excellent location and family-friendly atmosphere. However, considering the price and the ongoing organisational problems, I do not feel it offers good value for money. On a positive note, Grab makes it easy to get around, and the main hotspot area is only about 2-2.5 km away.

AAiza Z”Exceptional Stay – Amazing Breakfast and Perfect for Shopping!” ”Our stay at Adya Hotel Langkawi in Kuah was absolutely fantastic. The highlight every morning was undoubtedly the best breakfast buffet—the variety was incredible! We especially loved the live station where you can eat fresh roti canai and actually see the making of roti canai right in front of you. It was served hot and crispy, just the way it should be. The room itself was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in an Executive room which was a huge room, giving us plenty of space to relax without feeling cramped. We also had a nice view from the room overlooking the town and the sea, which was particularly beautiful during sunset. Location-wise, this hotel is a shopper’s dream. It is extremely easy to go shopping at HIG Supermarket (Haji Ismail Group), which is just a short drive away for all your duty-free chocolate and kitchenware needs. Plus, there are plenty of other shops and eateries within walking distance. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay in Langkawi!”

GGuest UserWe take room number 612. Their plug not working at 2 points. 1 is near dressing table and another 1 is real room phone table. Their washing face side light not working. Their toilet water wash hose leaking. Firstly we notice didn't provide toiletries like toothbrush and toothpaste. After we call up to reception then provided. For room issue we reported ask them to settle by giving when we go out. But didn't settle. Saying maintenance team were checked. But didn't do anything. After we report 2nd time saying want to check in midnight 12.35am. That's was our rest and sleeping time. Next day we waited to repair but no changes. They provide another room to change at 2nd day around 10.50am. But we have settle our stuff all at that room. We decide just leave it another 1 day to stay. So we don't want to change the room.

MMiaW98This was such a cute stay. My friend and I came for one night. The staff were wonderful. We arrived very early at 9am after a flight and luckily, we were able to check-in there and then. The beds are really comfy & we had a small balcony view too. Ammenities such as a kettle, fridge, tooth brush, toothpaste, shower cap, razors etc were provided. In the evening, house keeping knock on your door and give you a ‘good night’ card with some chocolates. They also noticed that it was my birthday and brought a small piece of cake for us to share. Close to the beach & other shops/massage places etc! Really lovely stay, thank you Arch! ❤️

GGuest UserWe spent 4 days in this hotel with my daughter.   It's a descent hotel for the money. The location is very good, on the first line by the sea.  There are two swimming pools, but they are rarely used. The area is clean and green. There are many broken umbrellas and sun loungers. This is not well maintained. The rooms are old and worn out, and there are constant problems with keys and air conditioning.  But, again, for the money, it's a decent hotel.  Not all rooms have phones. They don't tell you how to contact the reception. You have to figure out that there's a WhatsApp number somewhere to contact the reception. They don't mention it during check-in.  The reception staff was very disappointing. You have to write and remind them several times before they start doing anything.  There was a very unpleasant moment: it was a child's birthday, we asked the reception if they could arrange a cake. They said no, but shared the contacts of the store where you can buy. We bought a cake, brought it to the hotel, asked to put it in the refrigerator, as it wax very hot outside. It was said several times that they need to put it in the refrigerator, otherwise the cake would start to melt. They agreed. After two hours we took the cake that had leaked, which no one put in the refrigerator. In addition, the reception staff forbade us to eat the cake in the hotel restaurant, and sent us to the hut on the beach without lighting, plates and forks. And this is taking into account the fact that we were going to have dinner in the restaurant anyway. Disgusting service, isn't it? Thanks a lot  to the restaurant staff, who still agreed to accommodate us, helped us, and even played the song Happy Birthday.  The restaurant staff were wonderful, welcoming, very attentive both at breakfast and dinner, and helpful with other issues that were not even related to their job. This is the only service in the hotel that deserves a five-star rating. Many thanks to them

YYingbanxuewuI booked this hotel last Christmas, a bit last-minute. After comparing options, Ctrip offered a better price. A taxi from the airport cost about 10RM. Mercure seems relatively new and the environment felt good. Check-in was smooth, no issues with communication. The deposit was 200RM, and we received two welcome drink vouchers. Because I booked late and it was a standard room, we ended up on the ground floor in a corner. The window was practically useless; opening the curtains meant facing the elevator, so we kept them closed. Room facilities were fine, aside from some mosquitoes. The 3M filtered drinking water was a nice touch and reassuring. The room felt a bit empty, without a proper desk to use a laptop (maybe everyone here is on vacation!). The minibar was complimentary once, and the contents were good. The pool and gym were decent, but housekeeping was a bit inconsistent – sometimes towels were replaced, sometimes not, always missing something. On Christmas Eve, they organized a paid buffet dinner (staff went room-to-room asking if we'd like to join). I felt it wasn't good value for money, so I skipped it. Overall, for my Christmas trip to Langkawi, the hotel booking was pretty good. It's close to Cenang Beach, with a small mall right in front, so food wasn't an issue. The duty-free alcohol shop on the second floor was excellent; I found the cheapest alcohol in Malaysia there. Plus, the resort vibe was amazing. Finally, on Christmas Eve, we got KFC takeaway, put the TV on ambient mode, and celebrated the holiday in the hotel – the atmosphere was fantastic, and I was very happy.
