Top rated hotels in Samarqand

Hotel Diyor

Within its category, a good hotel with a very good location in the old town from where you can explore the monuments on foot (that's why we chose it). Cross the street and there is the park where the Registan is located. They sent a car from the hotel to pick me up at the airport at dawn and since I got up late, after breakfast, the mother or old lady served me a very tasty snack. I was in two rooms, both very clean and equipped and the bathrooms very good. One room had no light on the nightstand. Good internet connection. The breakfast good. When I left they got me the car to take me to the station at my expense (it was the same guy who looked for me at the airport). Apparently the hotel is run by its owners and they are very friendly. They also changed my money.
Medina Hotel Samarkand
4.1/536 Reviews
The hotel is centrally located in Samarkand, walking distance from all sights. The staff was very welcoming and kind. They helped us with everything, directions, calling taxi, printing the boarding pass. Their kind, professional attitude was much appreciated. The hotel itself is modern, has a fancy design, well-equiped and clean. The rooms are large and comfortable, well heated. The breakfast offers high variety, sweet dishes like pancakes, cakes, salty dishes, including caviar and local specialities, both warm and cold. It was a nice stay, the hotel is clearly recommended. Thank you for contributing to our nice stay in Samarkand!

Colibri Traditional Guest house

Good choice! We stayed two nights in the 12beds room. The room was nice and tidy, a.c. was working properly and everyone got a nice bed, with curtains to have some privacy. In the room there are two bathrooms, and both are clean and with functioning showers. There is wifi and you can chill in the courtyard, which is really nice and relaxing. The hostel is not too far from the center and you can reach the incredible Registan in 45 minutes walking. Bear in mind, in summer Samarkand is scorching hot, so it would be better to take a yandex or a bus, asking for Amir Temur. The starting point for the bus is very close to the hostel. We didn't try the breakfast, so we can't comment about that. The host is exceptionally clear and talkative, and can speak english at a really good level He was keen to help us, underlying the main itinerary in Samarkand and suggesting us a really nice restaurant close to the hostel. Really, the host really knows how to make his job. Now, two little notes, amongst all the positive things we mentioned, both notes are referred to the 12 beds room. There are no lockers in the room, but the host was willing to help us, keeping in his office our valuable stuff. He also mentioned that there are plans of adding Lockers soon. The room is very (very) close to the street, so at night you can hear noises from the car passing by. You can sleep quietly with earplugs, but it's something worth to mention. There are plugs to charge your phone close to the bed, and that's nice. All in all a good choice.
MUSAVVIR
4.9/529 Reviews
Staying in the Gestah Musavvir has been one of the best experiences of hotels in Uzbekistan throughout the trip to this country. And in this review I would like to express my great gratitude to the host and founder of the Gestah Sanjaro. Absolutely wonderful man, kind, friendly, open to the world and educated intellectual with excellent English and Russian languages! Always been on communication, helped and made the maximum to make our stay in the gestahous as comfortable as possible. On several occasions, Sanjar helped us with the advice of an experienced local resident, gave recommendations for the best restaurants and cafes, helped organize an interesting trip to Shahrisabs with the help of his friend, and at prices lower than offered in the city. Immediately, I want to note this design of both hotel rooms and common zones decorated in a cute lamp retro style. Immediately, Sanjar was visible with love and long collecting an antique collection that became a decoration and a peculiar chip of the gestahous. In both rooms and in common areas, it is always very clean; everything new, from bed linen to towels. Our room was very spacious, I could even do yoga in the room :-). There is no breakfast in the Gestapo, but given the huge number of common food points in Samarkanda, it will certainly not be a problem for travelers and will allow to keep very pleasant prices for accommodation in the Gestapo. As a summary: 100% recommend the gestahous to budget tourists, you can count on the owner's help on any issue of ”local orientation.” If there is a chance to return to Samarkan, I will be very glad to stay again at Sanjara in the Musavvir gestahuse. As a point of growth, and a drop of fair criticism, I would like to note that a couple of times there were short moments when hot water in the bathroom disappeared, but soon appeared back. If the Gestapo administration solves this problem, to my gesture assessment of 5 points boldly can be added plus! :-)
Mövenpick Samarkand
4.5/520 Reviews
Movenpick is the most cost-effective among the 5 hotels/guest houses we stayed in throughout Uzbekistan. The location is excellent, located at the junction of the old city and the new city, so it is very convenient to go to any attractions! The room was big and clean. Breakfast is very rich! The only drawback is that the swimming pool is very thin and is suitable for children to play in. In addition, the lockers in the locker rooms are not installed and are almost unusable😅 I only found one that can be locked.
Khan Hotel Samarkand
4.5/547 Reviews
hotel was perfectly located with walking distance to many tourist attractions. The rooms are also good with all amenities. The best part is owner and the entire staff are available round the clock to ensure that their guests are well taken care off. In my case, I lost my luggage during my trip from Bukhara to Samrkand. The owner and his staff went above n beyond and within hours had it delivered to me. Once again I take this moment to thank the entire staff for their efforts. if ever i get an opportunity to visit Samarkand in future, this place is definitely going to be my place to stay.
Diyora Malika
4.4/516 Reviews
It is less than 10 minutes walk from Reggiestan Square. It is close to the central area. It takes about half an hour to go to the train station. It is not far away. The hotel is easy to find on the street. The decoration and facilities are very good, and it is quiet and not noisy. The front desk staff is very fluent in English; Breakfast is on the B1 floor to 10:00 every day. There is hot water and tea to be filled with cups. The variety is relatively rich. Generally speaking, the taste is good, but there will be less fruit when you go late; the room and bathroom are particularly spacious, the furniture is retro, the bedding is still comfortable, and the corridor is cleaned in time; There are small supermarkets and restaurants around, convenient for eating and shopping.
Gur Emir Palace
4.3/52 Reviews
Zarafshon Parkside

The staff are all pleasant and helpful. As for the service, I put a plate asking for the room to be cleaned, but when I came back at noon, it was still not cleaned. The balcony of the Jr suite room was very large and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very delicious. However, alcohol is not served, so it is not suitable for those who want to drink alcohol during meals. Overall satisfied as a 4 star hotel.
