Vibe Hotel Canberra

Nice hotel. The decoration is not luxurious but has everything. The design of the atrium and the sky is a bit like a miniature version of Jin Mao Hyatt. The living room is relatively small, and there is not much space to open the sofa bed, but it has its own kitchen and washing machine, which is very convenient for cooking. The bathroom is very big, but the downside is that the bathtub is not slip-resistant and slips easily. The bedroom is very quiet, the balcony glass sliding door is very thick, and the sound insulation is excellent. Parking is quite convenient (to be charged separately), the hotel has not many parking spaces, but you can park in the airport parking lot a step away.

From the first moment you walk into the room, the musty smell hits you like a brick! The room we had was very small, but that didn’t bother us at all. It was the stagnant, stale air and the unmistakable smell of a very old hotel room, which once-upon-a-time was inhabited by smoking guests. I tried without success to open a window - I was desperate for some fresh air! On night two of our stay, after returning from a full day out exploring Canberra, I was astonished to see that housekeeping had replaced our towels, but not bothered to make the bed, empty the rubbish bin or vacuum the floor! This property is described as 4-star on the Best Western website, I have no idea how they are able to claim this rating! The breakfast selection can only be described as bare minimum, but the most disturbing thing about the breakfast “buffet” was how messy the entire area was! We found crumbs and pieces of rubbish scattered on each of the tables holding the food. Needless to say, we took a hard pass on the breakfast! The only positive I have to offer about our experience at this hotel is that the water pressure in the shower was very good.

I've stayed in some dodgy places but none compared to this motel. Booked 3 rooms for a work trip to Canberra thinking we were going to arrive at the Taj Mahal, weren't we sadly mistaken. We arrived in one room to find the ”cleaner” had forgotten to pop the toilet seat back on the toilet (which wasn't clean by the way) no biggie, but the rooms were FILTHY! My college actually cleaned all the grime and black stuff off the coffee table with a cloth. The lounge was full of crumbs, ash and cigarette filters. Also stained with some questionable white stuff. The room had a dampness to it. That was only 1 room! The others were full of mould in the showers, around the provided body washes in the shower and the thickest soap scum left on the soap holder and a bathroom light that flickered like you were at some dodge rave party. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR KETTLES! My work mates kettle was full of black mould and grime..it wasn't stained that colour as she could wipe it easily with her finger. The carpets were atrocious in all rooms, damp and smelly, stained with white patches and also the rooms had a thick odour to it. I am not one to worry about where i sleep, as long as i have a clean bed, but even that was questionable. We stayed one night and couldn't deal with it any longer (getting locked in the bathroom and being locked OUT of the bathroom was the final straw) we booked somewhere else where we enjoyed the rest of our trip. Points to the Manager who was lovely, and clearly embarrassed as she had apparently just started working there. But seriously, the level of cleanliness was a joke. Half a star!!!!!

Little National Hotel Canberra

The hotel itself is clean, warm, and has a good service attitude. It has a large public area and the bed feels soft. Bicycles can be rented at the entrance of the hotel. I feel that Canberra is a very suitable city for cycling. The hotel is located in the administrative district where the Canberra Parliament Building is located, and it is relatively close to the Parliament Building (about 1km on foot?). The hotel room is equipped with disposable slippers, shampoo and shower gel, etc., but not equipped with toothbrush and toothpaste. However, the administrative area on the rest day is really deserted, and there are almost no pedestrians on the street (you can see a lot of people when visiting the Capitol, the National Library, the lake, etc.), and there are fewer options for eating near the hotel.
Canberra Accommodation Centre

Very basic budget accommodation, just good enough for spending one night. I arrived late, there was one computer in the main entrance to check in, no signs indicating that it was the computer to check in and out. For the check out the drop off box for depositing the keycard is not signalled and small, the carpets on the G floor are dirty. The shared bathroom was clean, only 2 cubicles for shower and 2 for toilet . The room was clean. No kettle, mini fridge. The smart tv wasn’t really smart, there’s no way to make it work. Location was good, plenty of free car park.

I was unsure how my stay was going to be but it was excellent. I stayed for 2 nights in a 4 bed female dorm. You don't get keys or cards you instead download an app called Goki which you just use an email to login to and has all of the doors you need on it. The building is very secure, to enter later at night you need to have the app to unlock it. The room smelt very nice and there was a large window which let in a lot of light. We each got a locker with plugs in, and there was a desk with two chairs. The bunk beds were sturdy and didn't creak. Your bed had a pillow and a nice quilt along with all of the sheets you would need. The bathrooms were very clean and smelt very nice. The common areas were tidy and the laundry room was easy to access and use, as the payment for the machines was also on your phone. The accommodation was right next door to the Canberra centre with many restaurants and shops as well as a five minute walk from the art gallery. For $50 a night it was definitely reasonably priced. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay longer next time!
Ibis Budget Canberra

Good hotel. The room was a reasonable size considering that this is a budget hotel, the ensuite toilet and shower are small but adequate. It is a bit out of town but fine if you have a car (probably public transport is available nearby, I did not check). They don't have a restaurant but you can buy a frozen meal from reception and heat it in a microwave if you like (continental breakfast can also be bought, I didn't try it).

Good location - restaurants near by but mostly closed (possibly due to the time of year we stayed, checked in 29th December for 3nights). Ezy mart 2 doors away. Parking a bit tricky but can manage free street parking on the weekend. Hired a king executive room - had king bed with a sofa bed (double), had plenty of room to move (we had 2adults and 3kids - 12, 11 & 3yo). Stayed on the second floor which was the same floor as the pool/sauna/gym, pretty convenient. Pool was large, cold but loved that it was indoors. Breakfast was good too, sufficient to start the day. Staff lovely and helpful
