Grand Mercure Petra

The hotel sit atop a hill overlooking the desert hills - a wonderful view, about a 10-min. drive from the Petra visitor center. All the staff we met, from the security guards, to the bellman, the front desk, the restaurant - were just SUPERB. All of them. The lobby is inviting and warm, the restaurant is spacious and with lots of sunshine. Dinner buffet had a very nice variety and decent quality, yet overpriced. Breakfast had a wonderful variety with good quality. The room was very clean, and looked like it was built last year - very well maintained. Although the building looks very new, overall, the hotel is overpriced a bit. Overall, an excellent choice for Petra.
Mövenpick Petra

The impression of this brand is that it is a Swiss ice cream brand and also has the same brand of tea. The hotel is also good. Although the appearance is unremarkable, the internal facilities are quite good. Facilities: The facilities in the room are a bit old, but overall they are OK and quite satisfactory. The key card is quite interesting, made of wood. There are souvenir shops, ice cream shops, etc. on the first floor. Health: relatively clean. Environment: It is really close to Petra, just across the road. There is a lot of food and drink in the surrounding area, including supermarkets, foreign currency exchange and other supporting facilities. Chenge is more affordable than a hotel. Convenient parking is important to me. Service: There are all handsome Jordanian guys at the front desk, with considerate service and detailed explanations. There is also chocolate time in the afternoon. Although the food is simple, it is warm. There are many kinds of breakfast, the egg dumplings are good, but there is no ice cream of the same brand as Mövenpick. The welcome dessert is chocolate, served in a shovel, which is interesting. There is one detail that needs to be improved, the conditioner is no longer available, but I didn't find it even after cleaning the room for two days.

Great service - very prompt when calling for room service and dinner staff helped with recommendations and introduced us to Jordanian cuisine. The room was very clean. Beautiful sunrise from our valley view room and the dinner restaurant is a famous sunset spot.
Petra Canyon Hotel

Beautiful modern hotel beside the ancient city of Petra. I did not personally choose this hotel, I stayed as part of an organised tour. I was so impressed by the bright lights and eclectic decor of the lobby area. There is a lovely spacious terrace overlooking amazing scenery. Comfortable modern bedrooms. I missed dinner as I chose to go to Petra by night, but ordered room service on my return and it was excellent value for money and very tasty. So sad I didn’t have more time to enjoy this stunning hotel due to the schedule of my tour but I highly recommend it if you are staying in Petra.

The hotel is good, the room is large, the front desk service is very good, the hotel staff are very NICE, and there is fruit delivery ☺, it is recommended that those who go to the ancient city of Petra can start from the monastery, and you can go completely and not tired.
Petra Gate Hotel

I enjoyed a basic en-suite single room, but that’s all I wanted and the price was right. The receptionists were knowledgeable and friendly. They went out of their way to answer my questions and respond to my needs. The Jordanian style daily breakfast was plentiful and tasty. You have to drive, taxi or walk about a mile uphill from the Petra Visitor Center, but I had no issue with it (67 yrs old).
Edom Hotel

Clean and comfortable. We had a nice spacious room on the 8th floor that had views over the town. Staff were friendly. Restaurant had standard breakfast and dinner fare, ok, but nothing that stood out. Perhaps the best feature is that it's only a minute's walk away from the visitors centre, from where you enter the ancient Petra site. Old Street Restaurant in the lane just outside the hotel is great.
P Quattro Relax Hotel

Such a warm welcome upon arrival from the man at the reception. He was full of valuable information about the town and visiting Petra with good insights and tricks to avoid being fleeced. It is a short drive from Petra itself as you'll won't want the additional steps in the heat but parking is no issue. Our room had a beautiful view across the town and the roof terrace was a per place to chill and recuperate. My son and I had some nice swims in the pool too.
Tetra Tree Hotel

We just arrived in Amman from Petra where we stayed for 3 nights / 4 days at Tetra Tree hotel. When we first arrived, the management did everything they could to have our room ready even though we reached the hotel at around 11ish... The room was spacious and with very good A/C, furniture and closet. However, everything else was a disappointment. First of all, the shower door did not close properly therefore there was always leakage. Also, the handle from the inside of of the shower door was missing. The towels had spots on them and the dinner was awful to say the least. After the first night that i had dinner there i fell ill and have not recovered yet even though i stopped eating anything from the hotel menu. The desert they offered was of very bad quality and the second night it smelt bad... They offered the same dish on monday night as part of the buffet (which only has 2 options of food)and the next evening they offered the same dish as set menu. The humous and olives were nice but the vegetables on the salad were cut much earlier and were dry. The first dip at the pool was disappointing as i found a dead cockroach inside the pool which i removed. The surrounding of the pool was of very bad hygiene. The water was colder than usual but this is how i liked it anyway. Now for the employees... They were all very kind, especially with our two little children. To conclude, i would not recommend this hotel to anyone i am afraid. Our first visit to Petra was in Movenpick hotel but this time our budget did not allow us to stay there as they did not offer a family room which was offered in Tetra Tree Hotel hence the choice of this hotel. However, it definitely is not a 3 or 4 star hotel..!!! I do hope the management takes note of the ratings here and make some essential changes for the hotel to survive...
The Old Village Hotel & Resort

This place is sort of a boutique hotel opened by locals and not one of the big chain hotels and it’s location (point 1) is slightly further away from the city centre and it’s located on the hillside and there is no way you can walk there, you definitely need a car to reach this place from Petra Visitor Center ( hence please take a cab ) but it was fine for us as we drove. The price we paid was somewhat expensive ( due to its peak season) but all the hotels nearby were on the high side. Rooms are exceptionally clean and it even smell of freshly laundered sheets, good ventilation and breakfast was decent. We had dinner here as well 20JOD for the buffet dinner per person and it was great on the weekend nights but on a weekday nights the menu offering is much limited. Staff are generally friendly but I was turn off by a cook named Ala’a who was attending the egg station during breakfast on 29 October - not only was he slow ( compared to the cook of the previous day - leading to long wait at the station despite less than 30 people in the breakfast place), he was also rude to guests who didn’t really speak English and even told them when they didn’t clearly place their orders- I was observing and it was really bad taste as he scowl at them and this is only coming from a cook at the eggs station - you need mind your customer service ettiquete especially to foreign guests who makes up most of your revenue. The least you can do is smile and not make your guests feel like feel bad about their language when they are ordering their eggs.
