My friend brought me here, saying it's a long-time favorite. The moment I walked in, I smelled a strong, comforting aroma from the wok, which inexplicably made me feel at ease. We ordered several signature dishes, and the portions were incredibly generous; the two of us were quite full by the end. When we paid the bill, we found it was much cheaper than expected, with that…homey, homey feel to it. The restaurant wasn't decorated much, but after sitting there for a while, it actually felt relaxing, like eating at a neighbor's house when I was a kid.
I passed by this place with a friend before, and seeing a long queue outside, we went in. The Mapo Tofu was really good; the spiciness was just right, and it was especially delicious with rice. I don't usually eat much rice, but I ate two bowls that day. The stir-fried pork was also quite spicy; it made me sweat profusely, but I just couldn't stop eating it. I suggest that if you can't handle too much spice, tell the server beforehand to put less chili. Anyway, I'll probably go in again next time I'm in the area.
Here, the main attraction of stone pot chicken is the broth. The mushrooms are fully infused with its flavor, and the chicken, dipped in the sauce, is incredibly tender and juicy. A small portion for two people, plus some vegetables, comes to about 70-80 yuan per person, and it's a very satisfying meal.
