大老吴菜馆(心怡水湾店)

This restaurant isn't big, but it gets really crowded during mealtimes. The food comes out quite quickly, though; the servers are efficient. I highly recommend the beef stew with sweet potato noodles. The beef is stewed until tender and flavorful, and the noodles soak up the broth perfectly. A piping hot pot of it is especially comforting on a cold day. If you go, remember to arrive early to get a seat.

The stick fish and bullfrog are delicious. As a Hubei native, I think it could be spicier.

The salt and pepper braised fish is indeed good; the bones are fried until crispy that you can chew them directly. However, locals don't usually order this because it's too oily. Their beef stew with sweet potato noodles is alright, though—soft, tender, and flavorful.
