煲来饱去(龙升街店)

This little restaurant on Longsheng Street has only eight tables, quietly nestled on a street corner. I came alone in the evening, ordered their signature braised pork rice, and watched the people coming and going outside the window as the sky slowly darkened. Suddenly, I felt relaxed. This kind of leisurely meal, enjoyed by myself, was very comfortable.

Is this a husband-and-wife run business? The wife was tossing food in the kitchen, while the husband was greeting customers at the counter—they were incredibly friendly! When I scanned the code to pay, the husband even chatted with me for a bit, saying they'd been open for many years and that all the neighbors loved eating here.

The pickled cowpeas and chili sauce were complimentary, and they really went well with the claypot rice. Locals here only really appreciate these few side dishes when eating claypot rice.
