The museum is next to Xianglin Elementary School, to Xianglin Shenmu, Shuling Tower No. 1 giant wood group plank road, Shenmu Station, here is also a must-pass place, there is a mountain trail connecting the elephant nose wood three generations of trees directly to this. The former Alpine Museum was built in 1911 and rebuilt in 1935. The current building is made of teak wood, with the word "Yinglin" in the beams of Taiwan's Governor's Mansion. The 921 earthquake in 1999 damaged the Hemu building and renovated in 2007. The museum now displays the model and pictures of the historical relics related to the Alishan Railway, forestry development, animal and plant introduction picture materials, and the screening hall can view and learn relevant human history knowledge.
