The Armenian Church is the oldest church in Singapore, founded in 1835 and celebrated its 180th anniversary this year. The church is located in the dense gardens of the city center and is historically significant as a national reserve in Singapore. The first lights and fans in Singapore were installed in this church, and the church and garden are well preserved. In the corner of the garden, there are several tombstones/monuments to commemorate the famous Armenians of Singapore; Agnes Joaqim Founder of National Flower Singapore, Khachik Moses Founder of Straits Times, Sarkies family Founder and initial owner of Raffles Hotel Singapore, Iono Hotel Penang and Seaside Hotel Yangon.
