Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro is a major thruway road that cuts through the Macau Peninsula dividing the Historic Centre of Macau down the middle. This avenue was constructed in 1918 and quickly became a commercial hub, thriving with activity.The street is lined with early 20th-century buildings, many European and mixed Chinese-European in architecture and in a varying array of condition. The footpaths on both sides are surfaced with Portuguese style cobblestone patterns as well. Popular sightseeing takes place at the Leal Senado building and Senado Square which are found in the centre of Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro.

Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, also commonly known as San Ma Lo, is the main avenue in the heart of Macau Peninsula. The 620 metres long avenue was laid out in 1920 and it extends from the Inner to the Outer harbour, passing through the old residential area with its rows of colourful street shops. 

During the Chinese New Year, Xinma Road is closed, and it is rare to take pictures outside the road. I hope it will be the same in the future.

Many people noticed that the pavement in front of the forum pavilion was paved with black and white wavy gravel, but they didn't know that on the new road leading there, there was a better view along the way - "flamingos, crabs, squids, seahorses,... and even the rudders of ships sailing in the sea.
