The temple of Balbek is a world famous monument in the north of the Bekaa Plain, 85 km northeast of Beirut. The temple of Balbek is called the site of the Roman temple, but it is actually a product of the integration of Phoenician civilization with Roman civilization. It was destroyed by nearly 2000 years of fire and knife, but the remaining grand scale still stunning. It is said to be the world's most magnificent ancient Roman complex.
