Beihai Park is located in the central area of Beijing, adjacent to Jingshan in the east, Zhongnanhai in the south, and Shichahai in the north. It belongs to the ancient Chinese royal garden. The whole park is centered on the Beihai, covering an area of 68.2 10,000 square meters (of which the water area is 38.9 10,000 square meters and the land area is 29.3 10,000 square meters). It was once the palace of Liao, Jin and Yuan Jian, and was opened as a imperial palace in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It was opened as a park in 1925. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
