Having a few hours to kill before our train, we decided on the Best of India, which is just a couple of minutes walk from the main entrance to Gare du Nord. Seeing some of the other reviews which mentioned small portion sizes we approached the restaurant with some trepidation but were pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely delicious, although we were surprised when the Naan bread was brought out with the starters and not the main courses! On the subject of starters, there aren't many to choose from but the spring rolls were very tasty. The main courses arrived and on first glance the portions did appear quite small but I think this is more to do with the style of presentation, certainly they were very filling and didn't leave us feeling unsatisfied. Food was great, and the service was attentive but not overly so. The staff all speak very good English which is to be expected I suppose. Only disappointment was the lack of a wine list. You choose the colour and basically get what you are given. That said, the bottle of Bordeaux blanc was very nice! Certainly not a destination restaurant, but does the job if you are in the area and I think some of the negative reviews are a little unfair.

We visited this restaurant twice and the service times were not at all acceptable during the first visit. Egg fried rice was good. Dal Makhani could be better.
