Blane's Drive Inn Review

A short walk from downtown Hilo, Blanes is a fuss free eating place. This was our first meal in Hawaii and while there are huge portions it wasn't really to my personal taste. Large scoops of white rice, a little macaroni salad and we ordered one mix plate (massive chunks of meat and chili) and shrimp and mahi mahi (both deep fried but the shrimp seemed raw (it was grey)). Masses of parking and outdoor seating but there's not anything within seeing distance - you'll have to take a short walk to get back downtown. Pretty chilled out - you may like it if you're after a large feed and casual surroundings.
