Cattle Depot Artist Village Review

It was the Ex-Ma Tau Kok Animal Quarantine Depot , was renovated and developed into artist community since 2001. There are art works displayed and classes organised to the publics.

The land in front of the cattle shed was renovated and rebuilt as a cattle shed art village in 2001 to reset local artists in the art village of North Point Oil Street. The land in the rear was revitalized and developed into a cattle shed art park, which opened in 2019. The village has short-term rental units and open spaces for independent artists or art groups. The village holds various artistic activities such as exhibitions and workshops from time to time. The art village not only has a strong artistic atmosphere, its tile-top red brick architectural style, as well as the cement tank that used to drink water to cattle, the iron ring that tied cattle, etc., also attracted many tourists to visit and take pictures.

It’s a place with a cultural and artistic atmosphere. Although it’s in the downtown area of Tuguawan, it’s a single tree. When you enter a line, you will be attracted by a pile of red brick houses. Then there are many flowers and trees. It’s an oasis in the city, and I see a lot of workshops. The promotion board, Zhong has an exhibition hall, But I don't have a Sunday, so I just stroll around and enjoy the scenery, leisurely left 1 hour.

Originally a pre-war livestock quarantine station, it was converted into an art village in 2001 and rented out to local artists' studios, providing workshop activities, art exhibitions and stage art villages with a small area, but these red brick houses preserved in history are unique. In 2009, it was named a Grade II Historical Building in Hong Kong.

The village, formerly known as the Cow Quarantine and Slaughter Center, has a century-old history and has been converted and rented to local artists for creative studios.
