Centenary Monument Review

Amy and McDonald's intersection has a not-so-large park, which is close to the seafront and a short walk along the English Walkway to see the towering monument. The white monument is very tall due to the relationship of the surrounding green belt, and the statues above will occasionally attract many pigeons to dot it together.

百年纪念碑（Monument du Centenaire）伫立于阿尔贝一世花园，它是为纪念1793年2月4日颁发的尼斯归属法国的法令而建的。纪念碑建成于1896年，碑的顶端是一尊带有双翼的胜利女神雕像，她一手拿着酒壶，一手拿着金杯。基座上有一组雕像，寓意尼斯回到法国的怀抱。1860年拿破仑三世（Napoleon III，1803-1873年）和萨丁尼亚王国（Kingdom of Sardinia）签订条约，尼斯再次归属法国，所以纪念碑上面原有三个数字：1793、1893和1860。作为百年纪念碑，在1960年上面又添了第4个数字1960。周围风光优美。
