Chteau Lafitte, founded in 1763, is located in the "first slope of Bordeaux", which is named after the highland on the right bank of the Garon River: the word Lafitte was then meaning "mountain". The climate and soil conditions are unique. It covers an area of 178 hectares (of which 103 hectares are in the vineyards), and the area is the crown of five top-class wineries.
