The Christ of Rio de Janeiro (Christ of the Salvation, Portuguese: Cristo Redentor), also known as the Christ of Brazil, is a large statue of Jesus Christ in Art Deco style. It is located on the Monte Cristo de Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the symbol of the city and one of the world's most famous memorial sculptures. Built in 1931, the total height of 38 meters, the bulky, 1,145 tons, the left and right fingers of the distance reached 23 meters. The statue of Jesus Christ in robes, arms raised flat, affectionately overlooking the beautiful panoramic view of the city of Rio de Janeiro under the mountain, heralding the spirit of fraternity and praise for independence. The image of Jesus facing the blue-wave Atlantic Ocean, with open arms looking out from a distance, like a huge cross, appeared solemn and majestic.
