Originally founded by American Methodist missionaries around 1900, during the Anti-Japanese War, Chongqing often held religious activities and anti-Japanese activities jointly. There were Feng Yuxiang, Guo Moruo, Yuan Fen, Tao Xingzhi, Huang Yanpei, Zhang Zhijiang, Song Chengzhi, Johnr Moot, Director-General of the World Youth Christian Association, and Wen Junzhang, a Canadian peace activist, delivered academic and anti-Japanese speeches in this hall. In fact, this is later rebuilt, not a separate plot, but combined with a real estate project, the church has been drifting outside for many years (renting a cinema to worship), probably built in 2005.
