Cochem Castle Review

I like the quietness here. I drove by car in September 2021 and drove slowly from Paris. I didn't intend to come here to cochem. I spent the night last night, which is very suitable for a place for leisure and healing. Along the river, many small towns. Cochem is the largest here, and there are cruise ships, like morning runs, it is recommended to be by the river in the morning, there are few unmanned cars.

The castle is located on a hilltop in the heart of the small town of Kochm, and if you search for the top ten castles in Germany, it must be listed. Kochm castle must be bought tickets to enter, guided tour, fare 6 euros. Although the guide explanation of the castle is also German, you can get a Chinese explanation. The castle is too big and it takes an hour and a half to follow the tour. There are too many stories of the castle, and each photo below has its own long-standing story, which can't be recorded at all.

From Frankfurt, take the train to Koblenz, then take the train to Trier (or Luxembourg) and get off at Cochem (Mosel). This is a small town (only 50,000 residents) and is a very leisurely resort. Shopping or drinking in the city is mostly foreigners, few Chinese (Chinese tour groups are almost no). The castle is a must-see attraction here, and the cruise ship to browse the Mosel is a compulsory course. If you have time and energy, renting a bicycle to ride along the river is also a good choice. Come to Kochm for at least 2 days to enjoy the view and daze. If you live for more than 4 days, take a train to Luxembourg and make a day trip to and from the sightseeing trip. In addition, you can also take a train to Fort Elez (P15) for sightseeing. Alternatively, you can also take a train to and from Trier, where Marx's former residence is memorial, and the Black Gate monuments included in the World Heritage Project. Whatever the length of your stay, as long as you have been to Kochm, it will be a worthwhile trip.

The castle, which is currently seen in Cochem, the famous town in the Mosel Valley, is not the original castle that was completed in the 12th century. After a very colorful history, it was destroyed in 1689 by an army led by the French king. 

Cochem is a pearl of the Mosel Valley, quiet and beautiful, and lively and bustling than other villages and towns around. The town is full of scenery, especially the castle, a beautiful place!
