When we first went to Bar Roa I wasn't sure what to make of the very friendly barman who kept putting his hand on my husband's shoulder every time he asked if our drinks were ok. "It's fine, he's Italian" he assured me. By the end of the evening we had made a friend! Salvatore (whom we nicknamed 'Napoli') is so friendly and makes an effort in every language. Despite our limited Spanish he happily chatted to my husband about football and home towns and to me about food and culture. Plus the bar has a huge range of cocktails and Salvatore said he would happily make other cocktails not on the menu too. We had such a good night that we ended up going back a few days later - and were treated like old friends, even getting to know some of the locals. Salvatore then invited us to his tasting evening the next day, so we went back a third time to try his Spanish-Italian fusion cuisine - all delicious and free too! It's true this place is small - just a few tables outside and some bar stools inside, but it's so friendly and really good value. We would definitely go back again. Muchos gracias Salvatore!
