Dadiwan site, located on the east side of Wuying Township Yudian Village, 45 kilometers northeast of Qin'an County, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, is located on the second and third-level terraces and the adjacent gentle slope mountain on the south bank of Qingshui River, a tributary of the Hulu River, with a total area of 2.7 million square meters. The site of the Earth Bay is a prehistoric site dating from 8,000 to 4,800 years ago, an earlier site discovered in the Neolithic era in China. Excavations in 2006 revealed that the history of human activity at the Earth Bay site was pushed forward from 8,000 to 60,000 years ago. The site has unearthed nearly 10,000 cultural relics such as stone, jade, bones, horns, and artifacts, and excavated 241 houses. The site is of great value for exploring the clues and native appearance of Chinese civilization, and revealing the archaeological chronicles and cultural sequences of ancient culture of Yuyou and Tianshui. The Earth Bay Relic contains five cultural periods, according to the carbon-14 era determination period about 7800-4800, spanning about 3,000 years. The Earth Bay Relic period culture is the former Yangxu culture or Earth Bay culture, about 7800-7300 years ago. The second phase of the Earth Bay culture is the early Yangshao culture, about 6500-5900 years ago. The third phase of the Earth Bay site is the middle period of Yangshao culture, about 5900-5600 years ago. The fourth phase of the Earth Bay site is the late Yangshao culture, about 5500-4900 years ago. The fifth phase of the Earth Bay site culture is the lower layer culture of Changshan, about 4900-4800 years ago. The study of the Earth Bay site shows that the ancients have experienced the original hunting collection, developed hunting collection of Earth Bay site, the first phase of primitive agriculture in Earth Bay and the early and late mature agriculture in Yangshao.
