The ambience engulfs you as you enter through the rustic opulent doors of Dakshin and it only gets better as you are treated to some of the best service and of course, the most authentic Indian cuisine you will ever experience - Guaranteed. Authentic, starting with the very aroma of the food to the rich and savory taste. My recommendation is to try the seafood, it's guaranteed to be one of your most memorable dining experiences. We had several fish curries, the Kottyayam Fish curry and Allepey Fish Curry with Meem Porichath (deliciously marinated fried fish, this is to die for). We had also ordered some Malabar Lamb which is outright the most tender and deliciously marinated meat we have ever tasted. I would recommend to start with the seafood, and move to the meats as the main course. It's important to understand that this is authentic food, crafted fresh from elaborate recipes as it's ordered, so while it's not the usual concoction of yellow and red sauces you traditionally encounter is sub-standard Indian restaurants, the price of the food also reflects the time, patience and effort that goes into each meal. Sure, you could get a meal at any other Indian establishment for a few bucks less, and I mean literally a few bucks as in $5 or less, But I can personally vouch for the fact that the few extra bucks are well spend in Dakshin. You are unlikely to even get a menu spread as varied as the one Dakshin offers, much less the taste anywhere else.
