Dateng Gorge is located in the lower reaches of Qianjiang River, about 8 kilometers northwest of Guiping City. It is the largest and longest Canyon in Guangxi. Legend has it that in ancient times, there were big vines, such as fighting, crossing the river, floating day and night, for people to climb the river, hence the name. In the middle of the gorge, the river is tortuous, the river is turbulent, the dangerous rocks are unexpected, the beaches are densely covered, the reefs are volcanic, the huge waves are rolling, the river is turbulent and the waves are thunderous. Because of the danger of this gorge mountain and high gorge, it has become an indispensable place for military strategists throughout the ages. Dateng Gorge was renamed Dateng Gorge and Yongtong Gorge later. On the cliff is inscribed the inscription "Rongzhi Yongtongxia" of the Ming Dynasty. In the spring of 1974, Comrade Mao Zedong, who was well versed in the history of Chinese peasant uprisings, inquired about the situation of Datengxia and wrote down the words "Datengxia" in his own hand.
