Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) is the first National Park in the United Arab Emirates. Over the years, the original environment of desert wilderness has been carefully planned to preserve and maintain the same desert wilderness as in the past. With Dubai's rapid development as a major business centre in the Gulf, the Dubai government recognizes the need to maintain its unique and beautiful desert habitat and many threatened species of animals and plants. There are a variety of species in the reserve, including Arabic antelope, sand antelope and mountain gazelle. In addition, 38 species of mammals and reptiles originating in the Arabian Peninsula were introduced, including Arabian rabbits, sand foxes, Arabian red foxes and Gordon's wild cats. It is also a sanctuary for the flourishing development of desert shrubs. It's fun here!
