September 5, cloudy showers. We came out of the cathedral, passed Zhang Square, and went up an alley to the cable car ticket office to Salz Fortress. I bought a cable car round trip pass. There are a lot of people, the cable car is full, but the speed up the mountain is very fast, and it will reach the castle wall in a while, and the ticket must be brushed at the entrance of the fortress. After entering, follow the road map and quickly come to the entrance of Line A. This is the castle museum. You can receive a Chinese scene interpreter at the door. The museum has a floor to introduce the history of the fortress, weapons, artisanal judicial development and history related to Salzburg. Follow the route to the highest tower of the castle, and the reconnaissance platform at the top of the tower is now a great viewing platform, where you can see all the views of Salzburg, the old town of Salzburg. The showers then stopped, but a heavy rain was inevitable as dark clouds rose on Mount Winterberg in the southwest. We hurried down the observation deck, through the long passage in the castle, to the audiovisual room, there is the world's oldest organ collection in the castle, the audiovisual room is also the end of the A line visit, downstairs is the castle square. The B line is in the courtyard of the castle, which is also the center of the fortress, the Bishop's Room, the Armory Museum, and the Puppet Museum. Entering the castle hall, first see the cannon at the right window, the cannon is facing the Salzburg Cathedral below the mouth, this position can only hit the target in the city, the actual significance is not big, it seems that the main psychological deterrent. The room on the left side of the aisle is the Puppet Museum. The museum collection is very rich. The children are very happy to visit here. When you come out of the Puppet Museum, the window behind the Puppet Museum is barrier-free. The viewing platform is stuffed under the window. You can take pictures here and have a good view. Up the stairs from the hall is the Ordnance Museum, and there is a model of fortress construction in front of the exhibition hall, showing the difficult project of the fortress. The Ordnance Museum displays the military equipment of the Austrian Army from cold weapons to World War I, of which the communications equipment of the Austrian Army Command during the First World War is very exciting. It should be noted that at the end of this exhibition hall there is a reserved ancient castle wall to peer into the leopard, you can imagine how magnificent the room in the castle was! There is a restaurant in the fortress, we didn't go in to taste the castle coffee because we were worried that it was too late, and we hurriedly took a few photos at the observation deck and left. Salzburg fortress is a very worthwhile place to go.
