Xiangshan was rated as a civilized unit in 1993, was rated as an AAAA-level scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration in 2001, was rated as a boutique park in 2002, and passed the ISO9001 International Quality Management System and ISO14001 International Environmental Management System certification in 2004. In June 2012, Xiangshan was officially confirmed as the fifth member unit in China, and became the Chinese Mountains after China's Lushan, Taishan, Huangshan and Emeishan.
