We stumbled upon this restaurant when we walking around town trying to put our daughter to sleep in her pram. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday night and I am not sure why because it was fantastic. It was a little bit out of the way from the main strip of Nisantasi and therefore probably attracts more locals than tourists. Even though the restaurant was quiet, the ambiance was still very good. The restaurant has a great fit-out and layout which contributed to the vibe. It felt like a real steakhouse that cared about delivering high quality meat. The service was exceptional (which I suppose it should have been given how quiet it was). The rump steak was tender, juicy, delicious and a decent size and my wife's cheeseburger was also very tasty. The complimentary dessert was a lovely touch and also delicious. All in all I am not sure why the reviews are average, maybe it's the price and it probably helps that the AUD v TRY exchange rate was 2:1 at the time we were there, so were weren't as concerned about the price. Will definitely return when we are next in Istanbul.

    3/5Average

I had dined here last time in October, 2015 with my wife for the first time and had enjoyed the service, meat and the wine. So on May 1 I reserved a seating for four on the phone and showed up on time. After we ordered the food I asked for the wine list. The waiter said they did not serve liquer on the premises since March and did not elaborate. We ordered grape juice instead (I am not joking) and did not leave. The food arrived in a different fashion than what we had experience few moths ago; each wooden plate had the grilled meat only and the veggies came in another plate for all four of us. The grilled meat looked lonely and awkward on the wooden plate but it was properly cooked and was good. The waiter chopped the spinch and lettuce leaves by the table between me and my guest spilling some of the salad on the table cloth. My guest asked the waiter three times to turn down the volume of the inappropriate music selection to be able to converse across the table with me. I had to go to the cashier and strongly suggested that customers wish should be heeded. Although the place was relatively empty, the waiter ushered four unruly teenagers next to our table for no reason. It was a disappointing experience and I felt embarrased to host my German speaking guests there. So, the moral of the story, check if they serve wine with meat when you reserve for an occasion at this place!
