Suspension Temple, also known as Xuankong Temple, is located in Hunyuan County, Shanxi, 65 kilometers from Datong City, suspended in the half cliffs of Cuiping Peak on the west side of Beiyue Hengshan Jinlong Gorge. It is the only unique temple in China where Buddha, Tao and Confucianism are combined. Hengshan Suspension Temple was built more than 1400 years ago in the late Northern Wei Dynasty. The Suspension Temple was repaired in all dynasties. The Northern Wei Dynasty moved the Taoist altar from Pingcheng, and now Datong is moved south. The ancient craftsmen built the Suspension Temple according to the requirements of the Taoist "do not hear the sound of chickens and dogs". The essence of ancient Chinese architecture is reflected. The whole temple is a wooden frame structure, according to the principle of mechanics, half-socked cross beams are the basis, cleverly borrowed rock dark support, beams and columns are integrated up and down, and the corridors are tightly connected.
